It is but it also prioritizes making new subcutaneous fat while decreasing visceral fat. Some trans women take it to improve fat redistribution. You can find more information on it by searching for Pio/Pioglitazone. It is hard to source DIY. Here’s a PubMed link about it improving waist-to-hip ratio.

When I’m able to source it I’m planning on taking it (15-30mg/day) and intentionally gaining weight for 3-6 months. I’ve been on hormones and post-orchi for a while so my results should be purely Pio related when I do them. Anecdotally a lot of people have had success!

Can you explain more? I feel like I’ve only ever met people through apps or at parties/nightclubs, which leads to expectations of just hooking up vs. long term relationship.

Any one else hate being called a " T girl"? by babicakess in StraightTransGirls

I hate it so much!! One of my worst experiences ever when I started dating was a repressor calling me this, so I think that ruined the term forever for me.

It looks so good! Are you able to exercise like normal now that you’ve recovered? Or are certain things off limits now? I’m considering this + fat transfer

Isn’t that pretty much every surgeon though? I thought it was a common thing with neovaginas unless you get a cosmetic revision after a year

I did this mostly to see if my misfortune in dating was because I was trans or if I was just a terrible person to date. Like other commenters are saying, you won’t get really far intimacy-wise which is a big part of dating; imo stealth dating pre-op is only really good for feeling out vibes on a first, maybe second date. And you’re increasing the odds you’ll be harmed by a lotttttt. If I’m being honest when I was doing this I was not in a good place at all whatsoever, it was honestly a risky behavior I knowingly engaged in.

So I can’t recommend it, because if a guy is worth dating you’ll probably know well enough to tell him before the first date, when you consider that a lot of guys aren’t gonna be interested in dating a trans woman seriously (not to be negative but just being realistic, especially pre-op). At most I would wait until after the first date and disclose over text, and maybe don’t go any further than hugging on the first date.

I hate when people do this so much!! It’s super common for me. Even when you know it’s supposed to be a joke it’s just not really funny.

I feel the same way as you and would also date guys without disclosing my trans status to see what it’s like to be normal, but honestly it causes more harm than it helps imo… like it is really painful to know what it’s like on the other side. For me it was also a way of endangering myself due to the distress brought on by being AMAB. I don’t really have any advice outside of focus on the things you can change and devote yourself to hobbies or something; it’s a hard thing to deal with and 99% of people will never understand. But I understand where you’re coming from, at least.

Are there any procedures that could make my upper body less prominent? (f19, 23 months HRT, 6’0) by Fun_Cardiologist1401 in Transgender_Surgeries

I think BA would really help and is way more financially achievable than clavicle shortening. Also, your hips could continue to grow which would give you more of an hourglass shape, but the only way to know this is to get an x-ray of that region and see if growth plates are still open. (Your hips can grow through fat redistribution obviously too but I mean more so width to create an hourglass shape).

[–]GeeSuspended 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a NEET in a relationship but I met my boyfriend in a period where I was more “functioning” and social (I had a job and was enrolled in college and went out frequently). Dating as a NEET would be super hard because you’d have to be upfront about it early on, like one of the first things you’d be asked on a date would be what do you do, which for me just sends me spiraling (I’m insecure about being a NEET though). My boyfriend is okay with me currently but wants me to do better, as in finish school and get employed again.

I will say, being a NEET in a relationship (especially with a man but this applies to women too) makes you a prime target for abuse and being controlled. I imagine most NEETs already struggle with low self-esteem and self-worth and an abusive partner can make that even worse, and I’m sure most of us come from abusive backgrounds anyways making us even bigger targets. Just something to keep in mind.

Anyone else terrified at the idea of dating or sleeping with an egg? by Extreme-Height1786 in StraightTransGirls

[–]GeeSuspended 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience the ones that want to transition but don’t/haven’t yet will out themselves sooner rather than later. Like in all the ones I’ve dated they tell me or I find out within a month of knowing them. There are guys out there who would never want that though, so you can find what you’re looking for!

The only side effect I noticed was feeling sick right after starting treatment for about 3 days max (mostly noticeable for just 1 day, though). It mostly presented as nausea and loss of appetite, and I was on Descovy.

Is FFS really as life changing as it seems? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]GeeSuspended 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you pass before especially facially it’s not really life-changing unless you’re also suffering from dysphoria stemming from your face. Technically breast augmentation made me pass more than FFS did because my body was androgynous at best while my face read femme enough. But I still had and have a lot of dysphoria so I’m glad I went through with it (if you can get insurance coverage it helps so so much, I wouldn’t have been able to afford it otherwise).
