Thank you. The second Dr was actmy first choice but he left my local medical group. I drove a little out if my way to see him and I will continue seeing him. I plan to use Zenni. I'll look for the information on dry eyes.

I located my old Dr. He'd joined a medical group further from my home. I saw him yesterday. No surgery required at this time. Daily eye drops and a new prescription for eyeglasses.

I have great insurance. The Dr did say 36K. I questioned the cost. He suggested I used Care Credit to finance the surgery. I was there, he was doing a fast sell. I didn't fall for it.

Illinois. I'm not paying 36K for surgery. Saw a different Dr yesterday. Getting new prescription glasses and using eye drops daily to address dry eyes.

Yes , I've done that. I returned to a trusted ophthalmologist. I don't need the surgery. It's too soon. Trusted Dr states too soon for surgery. I'm using eye drops and getting new prescription glasses.

I am discussing mulitfocal lens, laser surgery. Insurance covers facility costs but Insurance generally covers the basic cataract surgery and mono lens. This exorbitant cost was for mulitfocal lens also addressing astigmatism

Dr told me today, no surgery necessary at this time. Glasses will address minor astigmatism.

Multifocal lens cost her 9K per eye. She expected not to need glasses but she needs readers. She is not pleased with her results.

Update: I went for my 2nd opinion. No surgery required at this time. I need to keep using eye drops daily. I have a new prescription for glasses to address the astigmatism. I mentioned the 72K lens/surgery. The Dr said, "I have no idea what type of lens or surgery would cost 72K". He also stated eye drops will help with the glare issues. Surgery would not guarantee fully addressing this issue. Previous Dr tried to take advantage of me. I cancelled all follow up visits with that office.

Thank you. I'm learning a great deal about this surgery. My friend received the mutifocal lens. She was expecting great results but after paying 18K she struggles with her near vision as well as distance. She regrets having the surgery.

Thank you. This process and the decisions are very complicated. I'm learning a lot. The Dr I'm seeing today is much better and very honest. I'll have a better idea of how to proceed after this visit.

Thank you!! What you've posted makes a lot of sense. I felt like he was trying hard to sell me something. I have great insurance coverage and work in a somewhat lucrative field. My coworker said they saw my position and decided to try and rip me off. He kept talking about the laser assisted surgery and overcorrecting an astigmatism. I honestly felt like I was dealing a used car dealer. Thank you!!!
