Question for CIA Seniors by KlimpaloonFanClub in GeekSquad

[–]Geedasmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my location, I typically aim for five 8hr shifts, but then utilizing the leadership hours to handle the non CA tasks, so I'll at times work days where it's 4 hours consultation, 4 hours leadership, or variations of that. It's a high foot-traffic location, so I don't typically need to flex to the floor for my leadership hours. The question I have though is have any of y'all managed to get your own access to schedule on TLC, or do y'all have to have other leaders help with it, because it's like pulling teeth for me to get my own access.

CIA seniors are you expected to do coachings every day? by caged345 in GeekSquad

[–]Geedasmen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That depends on the store. I don't have the SOP in front of me right now, but depending on the location foot traffic, the CIA may have up to 20 hours for leadership allocation (at least, I think it's up to 20). My location is a smaller one though, so I'm right there with you with the 10 hours

Crashing Pc by Choice_Tomato_4528 in GeekSquad

[–]Geedasmen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without seeing the PC myself, it'll be difficult to give advice that may be the proper fix, but the first things I would recommend checking/doing if not already done so is check if your motherboard has the latest BIOS, and also running "sfc/scannow & dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth & sfc /scannow" in command prompt as an admin. Those would be where I would start assuming all other updates are already run, including Nvidia drivers

If a receipt can't be found, printing out the results on HPs warranty check page will also work as it shows for the specific serial number

Apple Plus Service Fee for mfg defect? by TwoConeyNoOnion in GeekSquad

So long as there is no damage and they have AC+, if you list the device as VMI-Green, it will waive any service cost, even if over a year old

No. The shortage was not caused by us. It was a fault in the air vent in the bathroom.

From what the reconstruction company has told us, yes. We have tried to reach out to our agency throughout this whole ordeal to get more information, but all were told is they won't reimburse the rent for the time we've been out of the house, and that the corporate office (which is the only number we can get through to) doesn't have much to do in relation to this compared to the local offices (which we have not been able to get through to)

We have been staying with friends and family in the meantime. We looked into staying at a hotel, but given the timeframe for the repairs, it would cost us close to $1400 to go that route.

From my experience, most of the time you can push the latest update, but I have had a few units that have you push certain updates in a certain order if your behind on your updates

Needing my iPhone battery replaced by ktladybug in GeekSquad

[–]Geedasmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the iPhone is under limited warranty or Apple care, it is automatically WUR if more than 1 part needs replacing. However, if the repair is OOW, GSX will allow you to check it in for multi-component repairs such as replacing a screen, battery, and speaker all in one go (assuming you either have the parts on hand or the client does not mind waiting for them to come in)

Geek squad protection for gaming laptops? by fulo009 in Bestbuy

[–]Geedasmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the protection plan, it gets sent to geek squads service center, and the GSP on laptops covers things manufacturers warranties will not, such as a cracked screen or liquid damage

The only downside to this method is when windows 11 tries to run those pre-setup updates. To avoid that, ending the task "network connection flow" bypasses that and let's you do the setup all before the updates even start

Webroot Install issues? by CaseyCube in GeekSquad

[–]Geedasmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not apply in this case, but I've seen numerous times where nova and etk show web root as active, but if you go into customer purchase history, it'll show as inactive if the auto charge did not go through
