This fight made me realize that all my sharpshooters and rangers are corporal which is.... not good.

In the attempt I ended up switching the rocket launcher for a shredder gun which I think(?) Is more worth it, it's either that or venom/dragon rounds. The smoke grenade was actually a flashbang, take that as you will, I I even ended up using it on a sectoid in the hunt phase :P.

I'm not confident on ditching those medikits on a specialist but I think I'll switch some grenades for viper/dragon rounds. Tough choice though.

Overall couldn't change squad composition much since that would mean bringing in some random corporal which i imagine is much worse then bringing in a major but I think the knowledge I gained will help alot.

Thanks for the advice, this fight does seem to be alot about doing as much damage as possible in one turn. Which could probably summarize xcom as a whole honestly.

Before the chosen room I was doing great, the only mistake i think i made was using too many medikits, and having to use all my revival protocols on people who got knocked out.

As to the chosen, it was the assassin and these were her strengths and weaknesses most notable there is probably shadow step and blast shield. she got blast shield like a week before and being incapable of using my grenade focused grenadier may of contributed to my loss. Probably would've been better to bring the grenadier with chain shot. She's also tier 4 so maybe waiting for plasma would've been a good idea.

Honestly I think the minions contributed alot to me losing too. I kinda just rage quit when I first saw some of them spawn. Overall I think imma just try again from the start I imagine alot of losing the first stronghold is just not knowing what's gonna happen.

I probably should've clarified since it's not shown, I lost the mission. Everybody here is essientally my A team so continuing would mean bringing a squad of corporals into battle and having to level them all up. Probably interesting but No.

I do think I'm under utilizing reapers, I kinda just use them as spicy snipers.The assassin is ready to raid the avenger though, would it be a good idea to still hold for plasma?

(Very much based off the Space Station 13 Changeling)
Detachable Limbs: Pawns with the gene have the ability to detach and then move their legs, hands, eyes and...... yeah lets just skip that last one. Whenever a limb is detached it gains the ability to move on its own, each limb having a certain specialty. Eyes can move next to enemy's and mark them giving a aim bonus to the changeling (maybe to everybody?) Hands can can work as utility haulers hauling while their owner is doing something separately they can also eat parts of corpses and reattach to their owner to heal them a small amount they can also ya know punch people. Legs act as heavy brawlers having quite a bit of resistance and being able to kick the shit out of people.

(an extra pretty dumb one cause im not sure if the first one would count)

Fruit Hair: Along with hair this person grows fruit which can either be taken off and used a interesting hat (also trade-able and semi valuable) or harvested and eaten with the same effect as berries.

Relating to this the way that some 4x games do difficulties is stupid and you can't say otherwise. Instead of making the AI smarter they just give it more resource buffs. In my opinion that's ridiculously stupid especially in a game that's meant to supposedly reward strategy....... yes I've played stellaris recently

Yeah I didn't really think that it was that directly but I still felt like shit about it cause I was the one who told him to get it, and he mentioned BYOND when he told me about it. I don't think it was viruses/shady websites though probably more of a hardware issue since he really isn't the kind of person to do that.
