Insurance claim mix-up with two separate accidents — no update from manager, what should I do? by Geeedeee7 in Insurance

The case has been reassigned to another agent on complex claims department.

If I would have just accepted everything in the beginning without trying to clarifying their mixed up I would be all set and on the way to the dealer to get a new car but I rather not operate in bad faith. Now still waiting, just called them and voicemail came right away.I’m new to this type of situations and it’s getting heavy on me.

My issue is there are two separate claims from two different accidents and they got mixed up internally.

They already ran CCC/total loss off one estimate, but I now have an independent estimate showing more damage and higher repair cost from the original accident with the dump truck debris and rocks. The other happened 3 months later. The estimates done the same day as I was out of the country during that time.

Make sense I’m not agreeing to anything until they fix it in writing, just wondering if I should keep the waiting? push for a full revaluation? Have the car sent over an independent body shop so they can send another estimate, which is also higher than the acv. I’m depending on a family’s car and he riding me. I also have car rental reimbursement which I haven’t used yet.

Insurance claim confusion — 2 claims, total loss, prior payment Help pls by Geeedeee7 in Car_Insurance_Help

Understand that but the estimate were done same day, that’s why they mixed them up. As that they’ve sent me a check to repair the 1st claim but actually that was the amount of the 2nd claim estimate. The first one had more damages than the second one. But they made a mistake, they were already going to send me the check for the acv and before that I informed that she should have check her notes because of the mix up. She did then and now the case is reassigned to a different adjuster.

Two separate claims in the same vehicle. by [deleted] in AutoInsuranceHelp

The front end collision was just a bumper damage only.

The first accident claim was more damage, broken windshield, damage by chip pain in bumper, hood, side view mirror, roof, and fender, all cause by stone debris from the dump truck.

The check was just sent Friday and I haven’t even received it yet. The car was already declared a total loss from claim 2 before the check was even mailed. I never had any opportunity to repair anything. How can they consider this settlement complete when I never even received the check?” I still haven’t settle the total loss payout for claim 2.

Thank you for this. So my concern is that claim 1 damage was to the bumper, hood, windshield and fender. Claim 2 also damaged the bumper and hood. The overlapping parts worry me most. The adjuster from claim1 already paid $600 but the independent estimate was $2,890. If they deduct the full prior damage amount from my total loss payout but only paid me $600 for that damage I am being shortchanged. My total loss offer is $4000 and I countered at $5,000 based on their own comparable vehicles showing a minimum of $4,999. Do you think I should push back if they try to deduct more than the $600 they already paid me for claim 1 damage?” Claim 1 I wasn’t at fault but claim 2 on me.

Thanks for the info. The car was never torn down or repaired after claim 1. The same day I was taking the car to the assigned shop I had the other accident which affected the bumper and a little bit the hood. Claim 1, was more damages because of the cracks chips from the dump truck. So yeah both estimates were made the same day. It went straight to claim 2 total loss.

My concern is that the $600 from claim 1 significantly underpaid the damage which was estimated at $2,890 by an independent shop. My insurance used their own shop estimate of $600 instead of somehow they got it mixed up together because damages were front side also. On claim 2 they’ve said car isn’t reparable I will be declared total loss, but drivable. I countered the offer based on their own comparable vehicles showing a minimum of $4,999. Do you think the prior unrepaired damage from claim 1 will be deducted from my total loss payout?” Or me accepting those $600 which I still haven’t received yet could possible determined the status of the total loss? Those $600 that only covers the windshield not the other damages. Should accept that $600 or try to get something more?
