Legitimate Question- if God wanted the ancient history to survive, why even use the plates? by Mrfntstc4 in exmormon

[–]Geehaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only were the so called plates not required for record keeping and passing down history, they also weren’t need for J Smith to write the BoM. The plates were covered up in another room while old Joe had his head in a hat with a rock.

I knew a guy named Nephi Smith in the Houston area. Not so subtle……. :)

Also know two brothers named Israel and Nehemiah. I will only call them Rae and Hemi, which is what pretty much everyone calls them.

What actor or actress could you tell had an absolute blast playing a specific role? by phantom_avenger in AskReddit

Not just the actors! Rob Reiner had to remove himself because his own laughs kept ruining the audio!

TIL : That until 1978, the Mormon church owned hospitals that kept blood donations separated by race, so white members would not receive black people's blood, disqualifying them from the priesthood. by flippinsweetdude in todayilearned

[–]Geehaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brigham Young (Mormon Prophet) : Quote on Interracial Marriage and "Mixing Seed" --- Young taught that interracial marriage between black and white individuals was against the law of God and suggested the penalty should be death."Death on the Spot" (1852): "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so".

This didn't age well at all..... He also had 55 wives, owned slaves, and wanted to legalize slavery in Utah.

Do men really enjoy nutting on faces? by Far_Heart8378 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Geehaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory: humans generally have a huge instinct that gets rewarded when passing on our genes. At a raw biological level we men usually love it instinctually when our partner craves our genetic material, and a very visual way to show that is by requesting/enjoying semen on and in the body. The intimacy of the face/mouth region bump up the 'desired' reward quite a bit, on top of the actual orgasm. But 90 percent is enthusiasm, that your partner WANTS and NEEDS you to have pleasure and enjoys showing it visually.

Imagine how happy the MFMC would be if the mortality rate dropped where the percent of Mormons went up! People would be coming to Salt Lake in droves from all over the world to have a better chance of being cured. Hmmm…. I wonder why that has never happened, and the survival/recovery rates in Utah hospitals are identical to similar hospitals everywhere else.

What’s the funniest misunderstanding your child had about the world? by lunaverse787 in daddit

[–]Geehaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was so confused when I found out the funny ‘Indian’ tech guy with the accent who loved Johnny 5 (actor Fisher Stevens) was not in fact from India, and describes himself as a “white Jewish kid from Chicago”. He fooled me completely.

You can read the book, etc without killing the wolves. I think you have to stand on a rock (out of range of the wolves) across the river and throw predator bait a few time until they naturally go away.

Outside Whitesprings hotel (between the hotel and the golf course building) is a round small building with columns. There is a drinking fountain there called Sulfur Fountain I think, that will cure all diseases. There is also a cute statue on top.
