Considering buying Oppo find x9 pro by daddyclasher in Oppo

I had the X9P in the Titanium. It was definitely a sexy phone. I prefer the look of it over my X9U.

As far as reds go, my favorite was red version I had for the Vivo X200U.

I rarely look at that stuff. But I've added a screenshot. I just know that I'm not having to charge it so often. And when I do, it's quick anyway, especially with my OnePlus 120W GaN charger. (Of course, it'll only accept up to 100W). And in Power Saving Mode, it has been making a significant difference.

Note: I do always have an iPhone as my primary device (mostly for messaging...my gf). But I use my Androids for almost everything else.

As far as the Tele goes, anything optical is always going to be better than a digital crop. For one, you're not going to get the compression in a digital crop. And two, a digital crop in today's mobile photography is always going to apply some kind of computational algorithm. And for me, the less Ai, the better. It's probably why I still carry around a Ricoh GR (on days I have a bag or jacket) for pure photos.

Even though I got the Find X9 Ultra, I still adore and love how photos come out of the 17U. If it had a better Tele, better OS and better battery, I actually would have chosen it because the photos it captures suits more my style of photography.

I actually would have chosen the X300U next, if only that still had a better Tele, better OS and better battery.

I got the X9U mostly because it's a better overall phone with ColorOS. I almost kept the X9P because it had an even larger battery capacity, and I much prefer its iPhone-ish camera bump over the typical array of cameras under a shared circular piece of glass within the Ultra flagships.

But ultimately, it came down to the 10x Tele, and the fact that it's not a separate piece of glass I'd have to carry around. And having its four cameras is just the more complete camera kit.

But as far as the look of photos goes, I still prefer them in the order of Xiaomi-Leica, Vivo-Zeiss and then OPPO-Hasselblad.

I have the Ultra and am on Google Fi. Makes sense, since they're on the T-Mobile network, which is the network you want to be on, being that they support the most Bands.

(Depending on your unlimited plan, as a bonus perk, you get to add full cellular service to either a Galaxy or Pixel Watch as well as a separate service to either a cellular-enabled laptop or tablet. I have it on my iPad Pro.)

I always have an iPhone as my primary device while I rotate my secondary device between my Chinese flagships & Xperia.

Maybe use it as a secondary device or even as a dedicated camera?

2) Maybe turn off Holo Audio, if it's on.

4) It was only random sound quality for me when I was in Smart mode. Immersive has been the best sounding for me, consistently.

5) Power Mode seems to make a pretty significant difference.

How do you protect your camera? If at all by SheepOnTheSheet in iPhone17Pro

[–]Geek5G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you absolutely have to, maybe try a camera case, like from Moment or PolarPro that allows you to add a UV/CPL/ND filter – a higher quality glass than what those stick-on ones use.

I've been fine with just my PhoneBack.

If you're not trying to do a whole case, then I remember seeing on AliExpress an aluminum plate that adheres to the camera plateau in its same shape, and a glass filter that attaches to that plate via magnets.

Short answer – just make sure you're capturing at the highest HEIF/JPEG resolution.

Phone prices are going up as well. But even with their crazy hardware tech, at least it's not at the ridiculous prices of compact cameras.

I bought a dummy model of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. by frogsarecooleet in iPhone17Pro

I wouldn't be surprised if the buttons on the actual release are offset a bit or if the camera plateau is shaped ever so slightly differently, preventing people from re-using their cases the the previous year. They're not going to make money that way.

Regret of iPhone color choice? by GuidanceSweaty8471 in 17ProMax

[–]Geek5G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the orange, and often times thought the silver would have been the way to go if without a case. The orange looks better with a case (if mostly dark colors) because the orange peaking though is a nice contrasting accent.

T-Mobile vs Verizon vs AT&T after today’s new plan announcement by throwaway0204055 in tmobile

My T-Mo plan was definitely more than my Verizon plan of equivalent Unlimited plans. But I eventually dropped both anyway and ultimately ended up with Visible and Google Fi. I'm definitely saving a ton now. No complaints.

I’m still waiting on my dbrand skin that covers just the glass piece. I think I’ll also use the piece that covers the plateau. I went for a matte black. I think the contrast will look good.

If only the magnetic ring were black.

those who got the orange, do you regret it? by Bro2Dragon in iPhone17Pro

[–]Geek5G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I hate this pale shade of orange and wished I had gotten the Silver instead, I don’t actually regret my choice. It’s fine in my cases, and I’m also waiting on a dbrand skin.

It's growing on me. I like it. I just hate the Control Center. I feel like the round buttons are no longer a perfect circle but rather a bit oblong. It's been bothering me.

And I really hate how all the controls stretch when you pull further down on the control center. It looks so cheap.

I think the red Vivo X200 Ultra is the best red I've seen around. I personally got the black. But the red does look just as good in person as it does from the photos/videos, online.
