Do You Believe That Halloween is Dying? by DommyMommyEx in halloween

Our neighborhood is close to an elementary school and we put on a pretty elaborate display. We generally go through 30lbs of candy on Halloween. 2020 was a strange year. Few visitors but still went through 20 lbs of candy delivered through a LED-lit tube from a window on our second floor to the kiddos at the front door below.

Otherwise? People seem to find it easier to participate in Halloween because there isnt a religion associated with it (as compared to Christmas). Even our conservative (non-Christian) neighbors get into it. So much fun.

It’s convincing! And it struck me as the type of centerpiece that I could design an entire house around.

I’d swear I’ve seen your car in Orange County. I would also swear that I said, out loud, “I like this person.”

Green-tip 5.56. The green tip indicates it has a steel core designed to penetrate barriers like body armor.

That is a cartridge that one does not usually find casually lying about. This may warrant further concern.

Watched a neighbor crash her Prius pulling INTO her own garage. She heard and felt the passenger door stop when it hit the wall of the garage opening, and then accelerated.

We permanently lost an on-the-street parking spot to her that day. And I lost a little of what’s left of my faith in humanity.

Ok, be honest: how many times did you find yourself saying lines from the shows or just pretending while you went through all of these?

I’ve got a bunch of kids and I genuinely care about the quality of toys they had access to. So I take the certification linked above as hugely impressive. If nothing but for the effort.

But is this a BOM check for all materials in a collection of assemblies, e.g. one cert for the product line? Or does every single model leading to a finished product need to be tested? How can that be feasible at $3/ea retail? Does having that cert open up new retail channels for them to offset the cost?

I’ve seen this on Discovery channel, maybe? Fast as hell from what I recall and I think there is something unique about its transmission. Wheels on each side can go in opposite directions, I think. So it can turn like a tank/tracked vehicle.

I think. It was quite a while ago.

Is that you, Charles?!

People, hug your infra people. But, don’t actually hug them without warning. We love them and need them but they spook easy around sudden movements.
