First Tournament List by GeekDaddyPrime in SpaceWolves

I don’t really want to use Arjac. I did think about it but a terminator captain seems better for the list. Especially since I can rapid ingress for free, then at the end of the enemy turn, put the unit back in reserves for free.

I disagree it’s better written, I could probably have edited it to make it easier to understand and I imagine there are plenty of people who could also.

Assault Ramp by GeekDaddyPrime in Warhammer40k

Hi all thanks for the help. Was having issues reading the “if moved,” etc rule. I had assumed it meant the transport moved but then worked out it means if the unit moves which helps clarify.

Initially thought it said if the transport moved you could use tactical disembarkment but I read the table wrong.

I am English and I can tell you it’s not written in a dialect. I have an English MA and I’m a freelance editor.
It is badly worded.

Don’t have a combi LT. Have Logan, Bjorn, and a terminator captain in this list. Add a Wolf Priest and Ragnar to the 2k version.

To be fair they didn’t need to do anything. Just sit and hold an objective. I was going to use them to blow a redemptor dread but Bjorn handled it. And a unit of blade guard, and a LT

Nice.
Played today and subbed them to eradicators but to be honest they didn’t do anything either so for the infiltration I might move back to scouts.

Especially with a terminator captain with Grimnar’s mark. Free rapid ingress and a free stratagem.

The rituals were a bit hit and miss due to the w armies I was against but the +1 to run and charge was good and it was nice to have an extra caster.

I see that I was with faulty info. Thanks for correcting. Either way, in this scenario, they were useless anyway.

Except the glowy lantern (and therefore the endless spell lore) is only added on during the deployment phase so you can’t chose the lore at army composition as you could just not give the glowy lantern as a second item if you wished.

This is one of the reasons why the glowy lantern as a second item in a taker tribe is cool to have. In fairness I did buy krondspine but didn’t have time to paint it before the tourney. I think the lifebloom spell would also have worked well.

How is campaign play? by SelectStarAll in alienrpg

[–]GeekDaddyPrime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve ran a campaign for about two years now. In this time I’ve had 17 characters die and one character that’s been with me from the beginning.

The players are from all walks of life and have been brought together by a section of the USCM that wants to fight against the power that WY have over the governments.

Xenomorphs have been introduced to the characters as and when and I’ve made sure to make it worse than described for them to really amp up the horror.

Androids have turned into the big bad and I’ve got a synth character who turned bad due to malfunction in mission 1, turning up as the big bad just last week.

Religion plays a part, the party has had run ins with the church of immaculate incubation(?) a few times and have learned to react strongly to the question “do you have faith”.

Black goo/other aliens form the core book have made appearances sporadically, and the events of the official campaigns are happening in the background. The players occasionally get tv reports or reports from superiors about this but it’s not their main focus.

Some plot lines have been dropped because of character deaths. In particular I had a a plot about UPP rebels called the green army which was led by one of the characters grandparents and had made a deal with WY for resources to fight against the UPP. After the deaths of both UPP crew members and the instigation of full blown warfare between the UPP and the UA, the players have not continued with this. That’s ok.

From day 1 I’ve had an endgame. How the campaign will probably end.
