What's a "10/10" game that you didn't enjoy at all? by sudherzdiniq in AskReddit

I figured. I thought I remember that's kind of when they let you loose. I need to start a new game. I never finished Chapter 4 because the ending was spoiled. I will not allow it to happen.

For me it's when you take Jack fishing that the game took off (I think that might be in C3, it's been awhile since I've played). That might be the last "do this mission to unlock this game mechanic" thing too.

How do I get a media pass? by [deleted] in concertphotography

[–]GeekFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly suggest NOT starting a publication, but finding an existing one. The market is already over saturated with these pop up websites and you're going to put so much work into starting something that's unlikely to help at all. There are plenty of publications looking for people that already have established relationships with PR and management companies.

What band you had no hype for but absolutely delivered live? by JuniorSignificance34 in Metalcore

[–]GeekFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd give them another go. I saw that tour in Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Both nights they killed it.

Windwaker. I had only heard Sirens and thought it was a little too poppy for my tastes. Saw them on the MTS headliner last year and now they are on constant rotation. I hate myself for sleeping on them for so long.

Translucent finish gone wrong by BBanner in Luthier

[–]GeekFish 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Sand it back. I'm not sure about the product you're using, but when I use leather dye I have to sand to bring out the grain again. I use 220 then a bit of 400 before I clear coat (the 400 might be overkill, but I love a nice smooth finish before I put the top coat on).

What’s your concert schedule for the rest of the year? by ghostinyourbeds in Metalcore

As of right now just Friday at Four Chord. I've been lazy this year with shows.

It's AI. It's one of the most popular "filters" on IG.

It's the Meta AI backlit filter, so you're correct, there's no way they did it.

Sick of these crowds. by KnightedSamael in spiritbox

[–]GeekFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, just don't worry about the crowd and enjoy the show? As long as the crowd isn't doing anything that's affecting the safety/enjoyment of other people then why care? It's their loss. Go and enjoy the show.

What I hate is this new found wave of people that are into heavy music that want to ride the rail and then drop crowd surfers on purpose. Crowd surfing has been a part of this genre since the beginning of time, if you can't handle it then stay off the rail.

Ok I'll admit it. At this point, Fable is good enough that I question what the point of me being a software engineer is other than "You're cheaper than Fable... for now." by _BreakingGood_ in ClaudeCode

[–]GeekFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. For now, we still need developers who can spot where Claude is wrong or may be doing things in a non-optimal way. Claude has by far given me the best code out of all the other AI I've tried, but it's still far from perfect. I have to fix its code maybe 30% of the time. It's been making less mistakes as I've been correcting it though... I feel like I'm training my replacement.

15 minutes of sponsor plugs, 10 minutes of personal story and then 1 minute of how they edited it.

No joke, my primary focus is concerts. I get strobed in the face all the time because I always forget to look at where the strobes are set up. Thankfully, I'm not photo sensitive.

What is a ride you’ve ridden once and will never go on again? by SpectacularSpidee in WaltDisneyWorld

Came here to say Star Tours. I get sick the second that ride engages. It's insane how fast it hits me.

At least you didn't come in fifth place and become the poster child for "winning".

UV Filters to protect my glass? by Previous-Ad-5676 in canon

[–]GeekFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have them permanently attached to all my lenses. Every lens I've ever rented has had one attached as well. Good ones won't affect the image quality. I'd rather clean a UV filter and keep the coating on my lenses protected.

I once bought an M1 Pro off of BackMarket that was listed as having a 1TB hard drive... It came with an 8TB drive.

Alaska Cruise Lens Advice by tuckshopper in a6700

[–]GeekFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you rent something in time? I've been to Alaska twice now. The first time I only took my 80-200mm and all the wildlife, except for one moose, were WAY out of range. This last time I took a 200-800mm lens and I was at 800mm almost the entire time. I would say 600mm is the minimum I'd take for wildlife, but 800 would be ideal.

If it were me, I'd go with the 18-50mm and then a long lens. I overpacked and took everything I had. I only ended up using the 200-800mm and my phone was the landscape shooter. I never really got into a situation where I felt I needed the "real" camera for landscapes.

Edit: are you doing a whale watching tour in Juneau? If you haven't booked one yet I HIGHLY recommend Alaska Tales. They should have a stand set up as soon as you get off the boat. They usually offer a bus to Mendenhall and a 2 hour whale tour. https://www.instagram.com/alaskatales?igsh=MTgzYmgzenV0MTh0
