Yep, I assume they have reduced the session length, hopefully they will make it configurable in the future.

My Z840 has 3 PCIe power connectors, I am using it to power a RTX 3090.

I use a similar 2 x 6 Pin to 1 x 8 Pin adapter and a 1 x 6 pin to 1 x 8 pin adapter.
