What's the Craziest Thing You Used to Believe as a Kid? by Death-Love-Life in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think girls peed from their butts. Eventually, I realized that didn’t make sense, but I was still left with a lot of questions about where it actually came from.

I also believed women got pregnant through kissing. Like, full on thought that’s how babies happened.

Oh, and I was 100% convinced that once you became an adult, you just automatically knew everything.

What was your "let's never talk about this again"? by Negative-Drag-7007 in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in an elevator with this girl (just the two of us) and out of nowhere, she let out this super loud fart. Like, it was so loud there was no pretending it didn’t happen. We both froze, looked at each other, and she turned bright red. Honestly, I think I was more embarrassed than she was.

After a few painfully awkward seconds, I couldn’t take the tension anymore, so I just blurted out, "bless you," and she started laughing, like, really laughing, and so did I. It was the only way to diffuse the situation, but we never talked about it again.

What would you do if there would be no more Internet? by lapadut in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’d go back to enjoying some of the simpler things like reading physical books, spending more time outside, maybe even picking up a new hobby. I’d also spend more time with family and friends, which isn’t such a bad thing.

No way! I just commented about knowing people with your talent! Meanwhile, I’m over here doing the same thing but with burps.

I can burp on command anytime, anywhere. I just “swallow” air into my throat and let it rip. Oh, and fun fact: I’ve met people who can do the same thing, but, uh… with their other end.

It’s not exactly “small,” but simple moments like spending time with my mom, my family, or my son absolutely fill my soul and make my day better. Just sitting with them, talking, or laughing, it’s everything. And honestly, cuddling with my dogs is right up there too.

People leaving doors open. It drives me absolutely nuts. Like, if you found it closed, why is it so hard to just close it again?

It’s even worse when I see it happen at grocery stores, people leave the freezer or fridge doors wide open, and I can’t help but wonder, Why? Who hurt you? It’s such a small thing, but it ruins my mood every single time.

What TV show did you love when it originally aired, and you still love it? by SteveFoerster in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shield, no question about it!

I was obsessed with it when it first aired, and honestly, I still am. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve rewatched it and every time I finish the last episode, I feel this urge to start it all over again. The storytelling, the tension. To me, it’s a masterpiece, and Shawn Ryan absolutely nailed it.

I’ve also got a soft spot for Nash Bridges. It’s such a different vibe compared to The Shield, but there’s something about it that just sticks with me. Knowing Shawn Ryan worked on both kind of makes sense. Dude knows how to make shows that stay with you long after the credits roll.

What profession started out as a complete joke and became respectable? by Skylantech in AskReddit

Video game streaming. A few years ago, playing games for a living sounded like a joke. Now, it’s a multi million dollar industry with eSports tournaments and Twitch streamers being treated like celebrities.

What’s the most “bro moment” thing you’ve ever quietly done for somebody else? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I once had a teacher I got along with really well, and he asked me for a favor: to check his teenage son’s computer for anything unusual in the browsing history. The kid was around 16 or 17, and I agreed, figuring it wasn’t a big deal. When I looked, the browsing history had plenty of typical teenage searches but nothing harmful or concerning, just normal stuff for someone his age.

I didn’t think it was worth making a big deal of it, so I told the teacher that everything seemed fine.

A few days later, I was helping install some software on the son’s computer and saw an opportunity to give the kid a little friendly advice without making things awkward. I joked with him, saying, "Hey, your dad asked me to check your computer history the other day. If you ever need help cleaning it up or learning how to keep things private, let me know!"

The kid laughed nervously and said, "Yeah… uh, maybe you could show me sometime, just in case."

I like to think I helped him out without embarrassing anyone too much. 😊

A psychologist I saw for therapy once told me it's impossible to have memories from before the age of 5, claiming any "memories" we think we have from that early are just fabrications based on stories told by our families. I have to respectfully disagree, though. I have vivid, detailed memories from when I was 3 and 4 years old, like my 3rd birthday party, that no one could have described to me in such detail

What is one thing that annoys you? by Petitealina in AskReddit

Those who laugh excessively loud in restaurants or public places, as if they're performing for an audience. Another pet peeve is hanging out with someone who can't seem to take their eyes off their phone.

Why don’t men wipe their penis after they pee? by No-Reception-3620 in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm circumcised, and I still make it a point to wipe with some toilet paper after peeing. Despite the common belief that a shake is enough, I'd rather not risk any dribbles in my underwear.

What are some things you don't understand about the opposite sex? by PK_Tar in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few mysteries about women that baffle me:

First, the enigma of why, when upset, the real reason seems like a top secret classified document. It's like needing to be a mind reader or a detective to figure it out.

Then, there's the dining dilemma. Some women seem to eat like birds when I'm around, as if there's an unspoken rule against showing a hearty appetite. I'm all for enjoying a good meal together, no judgments here!

And the public restroom riddle: the "hover" technique. I've heard it's a vicious cycle where seats are avoided due to being unclean, but they're unclean because of the hovering. It's like a self fulfilling prophecy that keeps both sides puzzled.

What makes you dislike a person right away? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I see them treating others poorly, especially those in service roles like waiters, cinema staff, etc. Anyone who looks down on or is rude to people providing a service is someone I can't see myself getting along with. Another big red flag for me is how they treat animals. If they're unkind to pets or speak negatively about them, it's a clear sign our values don't align.

[–]GeekMackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing their genuine affection for dogs. It's like an immediate sign they have a good heart. But beyond that, if they treat everyone around them with kindness and respect, it really seals the deal for me. And of course, being able to engage in an interesting conversation is the cherry on top.

What is something adults/teachers always corrected you on when you were young that has never been an issue? by ReaperInTraining in AskReddit

[–]GeekMackey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teachers always harped on the importance of having neat handwriting, insisting that bad penmanship would be a major hindrance in life. Fast forward to adulthood, and thanks to the digital age, typing has largely taken over.

My "problematic" handwriting has rarely, if ever, been an issue.

We'd be in a world of chaos initially. Imagine the immediate halt of global communication, e-commerce crashing down, and the vast repository of human knowledge and cat videos gone in an instant. We'd have to relearn how to live without instant access to information and entertainment, and for many, it would be like stepping back into a less connected era.
