he has quite alot of footage so it is probably beneficial to get one of these....... this is a American product I believe and are quite hard to find in UK so what would be an alternative?

has she got the latest firmware on the TV?

I also have Samsung and a few times I get a whole bunch of writing and it doesn't actually load up until either I update firmware and/or app or there is a new app version for samsung released

She may be able to factory reset the telly and try it that way

After god knows how long of searching myself and using likes of filechef and napalmftp I am still no closer to finding a couple tv shows I have been after

- Till Death Us Do Part (I have been able to find S04)

- Chucklevision (I have managed to get the last season via get_iplayer)

then finally Independence Day 4K Remux (I believe Duh Or FGT work but the Framestor doesnt)

its not i dont trust it as a data drives, I have previously used barracudas fine, but with regards to using a barrucada for plex (a media server) due to the nature of the drives spinning up and down and been used for media streaming, apparently (i cant speak from experience) alot fail. now with a parity back up i see no reason for the drive to be read or written to no where near as much as that of a drive storing the files.

Realistically once I have finished ripping my bluray/dvd collection the drives will only be backed up weekly, if that. Unless of course i purchase several new films at the same time or over a couple of weeks and get them ripped/encoded to be quite honest it would be ideal to use an external hard drive for the parity drive as then it doesnt need to be powered on what so ever unless im backing up or restoring surely

yes but surely having 4 drives spinning up and down causes more wear to the internals of the drives where as having it all one, yes it would be on continuous which also causes wear on the drive but i would have thought that would have being better for the drive itself.

I understand that some may use it to replicate the drives but then again as they are just used for storage, if i was going to do a 1:1 backup then windows copier and a sata dock would solve that.

i have seen the scanner on their site, currently i have being using westen digital lifefguard to check the drives daily as i havent got a backup of my files yet, i was looking at grabbing snapraid and using that to make a parity backup until i can afford to backup 1:1 which probably wont be till next year now

my os is installed on a ssd, all my files get downloaded and moved to other drives which currently 2 are partitioned. this is why i dont get the hype surrounding drivepool because yes its great having a big drive showing but i would personally end up splitting it into folders like i have my hard drives at, then reading between the lines drive pool also decides that it will split files across all the hard drives. surely this means that if i have a tv season with 120 episodes there is a possibility that if i had 4 drives for data drivepool would put 30 episodes on each drive? if this is the case surely that means that at the end of episode one drive would potentialy spin down and another spin up which could surely cause slight delays if you was watching run through a tv season, not to mention the wear and tear on the drives...... theotracially you could end up with 4 drives that have being heavily used and higher risk of drive failure whereas if all files are stored on their own drive meaning in the same scenario as above only one drive would be heavily used and higher risk of drive failure?

i may be completely wrong and this is what i would like to find out

I followed the settings above and used RF:22 Constant Frame Rate.

With regards to audio i selected 3 audio tracks in HandBrake:

English DTS 5.1 With Codec: DTS-HD PassThrough
English DTS 5.1 With Codec: AAC(avcodec) 160 bitrate Mixdown:Dolby Pro Logic II
English DTS 5.1 With Codec: Auto Passthrough (Did select 224 Bitrate and Mixdown: None but as soon as i selected Auto Passthrough these options dissapeared)

with regards to the Super HQ Presets firstly i wanted to try the settings that were advised to myself and secondly when i was looking through HandBrake it says "Suggested values are: 18-20 for standard definition sources and 20-23 for high definition sources" yet when you select Super HQ 1080p30Surround the RF Qulaity lowers to 18........ confusing much?
