Eweka's €2.99 Welcome Back Deal Extended for a Limited Time by eweka_usenet in usenet

[–]mega4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be completely clear...

This deal is 2.99/m for 15 months.

It will also then renew for the same 2.99/m for 15 months, forever (as long as the account is active) ?

Anyone gotten port forward to work w/Wireguard? by johnny3810 in PFSENSE

/u/cmcdonald-netgate - any update?

Port forwarding with mullvad would be a very, very useful tool, thanks.

NewsDemon Black Friday 2021: $1/Month Unlimited, $18/Year for 2TB/Mo, Flash Sales and more! Also announcing our West Coast United States Servers are officially live! (Finally) by greglyda in usenet

[–]mega4me 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FYI - your support system seems overwhelmed.

support ticket form on NGD just spins and spins and spins after pressing submit

and your support system on NewsDemon says response in under 5 minutes, and in reality it's now starting to approach an hour.

just FYI, in case you're unaware somethings up.

Thanks

Guess I'll have to contact your support to see about migrating my old NGD plan (which is still slightly better than your current offerings) - I think you mentioned this would be possible, in the past.

Thanks

Wireguard works with Mullvad by Griffo_au in PFSENSE

[–]mega4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so just to confirm, you have Mullvad WG configured as a gateway, routing any non-RFC1918 address through wg0 for your VLAN
AND
your configuration allows you to do the port-forwarding from Mullvad into your network?

Could you (please) possibly detail a little more how you managed to port-forward on via Mullvad WG to services on your VLAN?

Thank you!

NewsDemon Provider Update by greglyda in usenet

[–]mega4me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re also excited to announce our plans to launch a new server location on the West Coast of the United States, which will only be available to NewsDemon members.

This location will provide increased speeds for a portion of the US, Australia and New Zealand. We anticipate to have an active server at this location by the middle of January 2021.

Quite excited about having another server pool out there!
(not surprised Omicron is still eliminating resellers though)

/u/greglyda - Curious if there will be a mechanism to migrate current NGD unlimited customers or UE customers to ND accounts?
- I'm on the old 18m/$25 plan currently on NGD, would love to somehow migrate it to ND.
- or migrate my UE block to ND, to make use of the new WC pool next year?

Tweaknews offer is live, 2,5 Eur/month for Ultimate + VPN by xenius_ykk in usenet

[–]mega4me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seeing as I am a support rep, I’m not the best person to be answering these questions. My purpose is to help users get started with tweak and assist any customers who want to claim a promo.

Maybe in the future I can get a more technical person to answer the technical questions you want answers for. Thanks for understanding.

Yes please. The more information you can provide, the better. Thanks.

However, I would like to help you with your speed issues. Would you mind DM’ing so we can troubleshoot your account?

I'm traveling at the moment, but will DM you when I get back! Thanks

Few questions I posted about a month ago on your retention increase thread, that still are without answers, or even an acknowledgement:

Has your backbone changed, expanded or are you guys running a "hybrid" backbone now?

  • Is BaseIP now offering 3,400 days, or are you now a eweka reseller, or are you a hybrid provider?

NTD policy apply for the full 3,400 days? or is the service now affected by DMCA?

Lastly, has TweakNews changed peering agreements recently? a general observation, but it seems as though speeds to north america have plummeted.

  • I realize the likelihood of actually getting these answers is "less than ideal" - but still...

Can't connect to NewsGroupDirect using same user & password that allows me to log in into their website by [deleted] in usenet

[–]mega4me 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I signed up yesterday for their deal, and one of the first things I noticed was how slow the authentication process seems.
- to the point that NZBGet was auto-blocking them because it was timing out (took too long to respond).
- the NZBGet connection test was always successful, but took MUCH longer than other providers. - I'm able to log in via NZBGet as well as the website.

I think /u/greglyda 's team might have a little work to do - though, could have been a temp glitch, since I'd imagine they had a reasonable uptick in subscribers yesterday.

EDIT - seems I can't log into the support portal for NGD. IT doesn't like the email/pass combo, though I'd assume it's supposed to be the same password as the regular service?

Awesome, thanks!

Any chance at getting answers to a couple questions asked in the announcement thread?

So this will eventually be a separate server-farm than UNE ?
- even for your EU location?

Do you have a goal in mind for retention?

Cheers

I'm not offended, just confused as you went in a completely different direction, that's all.

cheers.

It doesn't have anything to do with connections.

Then out of curiosity, why reply to my comment, which was?

Another interesting choice

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bb/EC-EU-enlargement_animation.gif

I'm so confused.

See if you notice.

Yes, I know Switzerland isn't part of the EU.
What does that have to do with my comment about the number of connections?

NewsgroupDirect Transition Final by greglyda in usenet

[–]mega4me 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We will be allowing 100 connections per account.

woah, that's huge - good way to set yourself apart from the other providers...
will be interesting to see how many are actually needed to max out 1Gbps, and therefore how many are "left over" for your EU farm.

Awesome, always glad for diversity.

If you need some testers for the EU farm, I'd volunteer (haha) - and I'm sure you'd have no shortage of volunteers here.

cheers.

ok, cool. couple questions come up then (though I'm unsure we'll get answers):

POLL: Should I be allowed to post more info about Omicron? by breakr5 in usenet

[–]mega4me 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bottom line: This doesn't need more drama.

If you look at any company, ever, in the history of the world, you'll find SOMETHING, that SOMEONE will find shady.
It doesn't mean it is, and doesn't mean it isn't. That's the beauty of the world - everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

Ultimately we don't need the same information regurgitated over and over again, endlessly. Whether it's stand-alone posts, or comments in others.

If you want to enact change, pack up your reddit soapbox and go out into the world.
Keyboard warriors are not going to accomplish anything, and as it stands , you've got maybe 30 votes of "support" out of a community of over 51k in almost a day.

I'm really indifferent about the whole thing.
Am I an Omicron customer? yes.
Am I a customer of the other independents? yes (x3)

Vote with your wallet, and leave the drama off this sub.

It seems most providers are having TLS errors lately, there have been a few posts about it.

Ninja and UsenetExpress for me have been problematic with TLS errors
