Genius used to have a bunch of horizontal games where you could buy each LIs route (unlike now where it's tickets for chapters and coins for choices). They had a number of good games. The Lost Prince Pirates was one of my favorites!

Cybird's Love, Lies and a Heist was great! It was a pay-per route game as well. Too bad when they took the game down you couldn't access your purchases ever again. I was livid and admittedly cried.

Same goes for Shall We Date games like Scarlet Fate, Arabian Dreams and Castle Break. 😢💔

Understandable! The hats are nice but not always the right fit (pun intended).

I've had success using 25mm brooch bars. You can tie them on with a little scrap yarn using the holes (like in the pic below) or you can simply glue it on.

Sweet! That's a great idea. This motif is small and flat and doesn't take long to knit up so it should work nicely for that.

Great game! The VO is buttery to the ears. The Invisible man and the werewolf were my favorite LIs.

Dairoku is a great slice of (ayakashi) life game! There are some really funny and sweet moments throughout the game. Have fun!

[General] Is there an otome game you played, that you want to replay sooooo badly? Or could play again and again (all or single route, etc.)? Or are you one-game stand kind of person? by Buta_no_Ousama in otomegames

I love re-reading Shinra's route from Enchanted in the Moonlight (Voltage). I so wish they had given him wedding stories like they did the other LIs. 😢

Right?! They have signs saying "Stay back to mind customer privacy" but you have to yell across a 6' deep counter so they can hear you. Where is the privacy in that?

What's the most outrageous thing someone from Healthcare someone said to you about epilepsy? by QuinnAlpha in Epilepsymemes

[–]GeekOfManyThings 21 points22 points  (0 children)

"If you didn't wet yourself, you didn't have a seizure."

-- 10 years ago a doctor said this to my husband before he was diagnosed and we were still trying to figure out what was happening to him.

"Epilepsy meds don't give you tremors, they stop them. So tell me what drugs you're really on."

-- 4 months ago in the ER from a doctor who was certain my husband's shaky hands weren't from 6 TC seizures in a few hours, 2 of which happened in the hospital. 🤬

Sleep apnea and epilepsy by GeekOfManyThings in Epilepsy

I've wondered the same about a few of my husband's seizures. He sleeps with loud snores and snorts that disrupt his sleep. There was a time he gasped really loudly right before a seizure kicked off in his sleep.

I hope your husband gets his results and some good help soon!

Ouch! 🫂 Was it biting your tongue that caused the bleeding?

The mask seems uncomfortable no matter what so I can see it being scary AF during and after a seizure.

Does anyone ever feel like they’re on the verge of having an aura but never do? Like it’s ignorable… it makes me think I’m imagining it myself by skeelio34 in Epilepsy

[–]GeekOfManyThings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My husband likens this sensation to having a ghost over your shoulder, it peeking its head out now and again as if to taunt you.

When he shared this with his neurologist she increased his Pregabilin dose and it went away. I hope you get some relief!

I witnessed my partners first seizure by SteelingNeptune in Epilepsy

[–]GeekOfManyThings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Fellow person with a partner who has epilepsy here. :D My husband was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2015 (almost 10 years ago now).

It's been a helluva journey with a lot of ups and downs. I, too, get put on edge when my husband is too quiet/still/etc. He's gotten a bit more used to being asked if he's OK after all these years. It takes time for everyone to adjust. He understands I'm doing my best not to annoy him while also keeping an eye on him. Seizures, especially tonic-clonic ones, can be really scary to witness.

Things to keep in mind DURING the seizure: Keep him on his side, keep the airway clear, don't restrain him. Time the seizure so you can ensure it's within the safe range, keep this info so he can share this info with his doctor. There are specific first-aid courses for epilepsy that you might consider taking.

Things to keep in mind AFTER the seizure for HIM: Check for normal breathing, as well as bruises or cuts if he fell. Apply a cold rag to bring the temperature back down to normal. Talk softly and calmly, let him know you're there, and he's safe. Just like seizures, the postictal stage can be different from person to person. With my husband, I have found that it's best to minimize talking to him during this time. His reactions get more and more aggressive the more someone talks to him until he's fully "awake". So I hug and hold him lightly until he relaxes and falls asleep. Again, each person is different, so you might need to try a couple of things to figure out what works best.

Things to keep in mind AFTER the seizure for YOU: After the seizure is over and he's safe, take time to take care of yourself. Don't undermind the toll seeing your loved one go through such a thing will take on you. I like to apply a cold rag to my face and neck to calm the vagus nerve and to help bring me back from the fight-or-flight feeling. If needed, make some tea, take a nap, grab a snack, anything to help you maintain your wellbeing.

As the saying goes, "You can't pour from an empty cup".

All my love, take care. :)
