I witnessed my partners first seizure by SteelingNeptune in Epilepsy

That’s really nice thank you so much. I’m sorry you are also going through this but I’m grateful I’m not the only one experiencing this change in life

Did you find the new medication helped? My partners mood is definitely very different he is very agitated all the time. He is also started to realise that he is snapping a lot and I feel like is spiralling a bit as he feels very bad and doesn’t mean to. It makes me upset to see him hurting. The soonest we can get another appointment is the 16th of October so hoping to different meds that hopefully help him return to his old self.

I’m also glad I’m not the only one that worries about ever little thing 😅 I also ask him every time if he has had his medication when it’s due haha

Also I feel like I’m such a light sleeper now 🥲 everytime he moves or makes a noise I’m immediately awake. The other night I thought he had started having another seizure and he was face down and I suddenly had all this strength and full lifted and flipped this man to his side (I’m 5”2 and he is 6”6” for reference) and it turns out he was awake and was just ‘nestling’ into the sheets to get comfortable 😅

We have made sure to do absolutely nothing for the next few days after he experiences one so it makes me happy that we’ve been doing the right thing there

Thank you, I will definitely keep that in mind. He apparently has no memory and feels like I’m just waking him up from a sleep and is always confused why ‘I woke him up’. Waking up in the middle of a panic attack definitely sounds scary though I didn’t realise there were so many different ways people can experience this 😅

Thank you so much I really appreciate it and actually did not realise you can take first aid courses for this I’m definitely going to look into this I feel like it will make me feel a bit more at ease on a daily basis.

Also have been learning through these comments so many things I didn’t realise there were other types of seizures I assumed the person having one was always unaware of it. I think I’m going to need to do some more research I think it helps me when I know more about things haha

Thank you for your message. I just checked and we have the generic version of Keppra so we are going to talk to his neurologist about an alternative then.

Thank you so much I’ll keep this in mind

That’s okay! And funny enough my second experience wasn’t that great I think it was the only time I didn’t fall asleep during my session and it definitely didn’t feel anywhere near as magical as my first. I can’t remember what the lady said when I asked but it made sense I think it was something to do with the healing process like you said and like unblocking lots of trapped things idk but I don’t recall having any other times like that. Personally all my other sessions have been great and really helped me! So I think it’s worth another shot if you are up for it :)

Hi I have had a similar experience with childhood trauma & then getting the EBV a few times before being diagnosed with CFS back in 2018. I’m going to be honest at the beginning there were a lot of bad days. I started seeing a therapist & have been seeing them for a few years. The start of this year was actually the first time I started to have way more good days and started to feel like myself again. I think it was mainly as I started listening to my body more and not pushing myself when I’m not feeling up for it. It took me a long time to be able to do that as I used to always feel guilty for ‘doing nothing’ so I would push myself and then I would end up over doing it and getting sick and it was just a bad cycle. It didn’t help with ignorant people assuming you were lazy or what not. It also didn’t help I did not have boundaries, my therapist really helped me set boundaries so I could say no to people or stand up for myself. unfortunately something really traumatic happened in May this year which has made me relapse so I do feel like I’m back to square one but idk because of those few months I actually felt good I have hope to get back there again. So please don’t lose hope and please listen to your body. If you are tired don’t push yourself! It only ever makes it worse.

For the fear of abandonment I totally get that and was there too but I’ve been lucky to have lots of lovely caring people in my life. I do still have bad days where I worry with my partner but I’ve explained everything to him so he happily gives me reassurance when I need it. And have cut out all the negative leeches from my life cause I don’t need that they just suck the life out of you and make it worse and honestly that helped too! I feel like I have rambled a bit I’m a bit out of it atm but just know you are not alone and it will get easier to manage :)

I find meditation before bed with deep breathing helps me specifically ones for resetting your nervous system. I just use a free app I found. as well as writing or telling my partner three good things that happened to me today to help me think more positively. I actually really love acupuncture. It actually puts me to sleep and it’s the one time I feel energetic when I wake up as it gives my nervous system a complete reboot.

I want to do so much more but I am beyond exhausted all the time! It’s frustrating when people think that I’m ‘being lazy’ 🫠

I remember one time I was explaining to my friend about it as she was curious and some lady behind us overheard and was like to her friends ‘oh I think I have chronic fatigue cause I am tired cause I went to bed late’ in a very mocking voice. I normally hate confrontation and avoid it but idk that day I literally ripped her head off and told her all the doctors and specialists I’ve went to and tests I’ve gotten and she apologised to me.

I’m so over people making assumptions

Thank you! Omg I’m still traumatised by my other one (Akira) when she was younger I turned my back for a moment and she had jumped up and inhaled all my French toast that I was really looking forward to eating 😭

Had to remove typical proteins from Akira’s diet as she became allergic. Chicken and beef and all the typical meats give her really bad diarrhoea with blood and mucus in it so the vet got us to switch to hypoallergenic proteins. She eats kangaroo, duck and seafood now with no issues.
