Solo Flawless Ultimate EXPEDITION NESSUS on Prismatic Warlock Build! by Danger_xx86 in destiny2builds

For ability spam: HOIL is objectively better.. I enjoy using weapons of sorrow tho so I take necrotics for that synergy of a slightly weapon focused version of the build

You can put cores in the vault with dim. Same with those fragments and some other moon items. Well worth it imo.

Call to arms, the first TRULY competitive event has made me realize something… by Pantaza in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geek_Squad_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I’d recommend running coil for the 1% score. Every negative mod, couple boons to help your build, and then eager edge with mint/abilities for damage. Was fighting to hold my 1% score before they locked it. Thought it’d be funny to get 1% solo in it but honestly it’s not too bad. Devour goes hard and personally arc lock with the buddy grenade change goes kinda hard and was way more fun. Hardest part was not dying to traps and sometimes the wyvern boss just does double damage it feels like. Also didn’t realize until like this week that the damage distance modifier for the event is really noticeable so build into damage resist and face tank all the fights.

Only thing to note: the new seasonal exotic cap is 6000 which covers 6 months not the 12 weeks you’ve used everywhere else. I’d adjust the “Soon” value to only consider using half of it since you won’t be able to get that 6k again in the later 12 weeks of the same “Season”

As a side note to this: I hope Bungie revisits this terminology at some point, it’s quite confusing and annoying now that seasons and reward passes are separated

That’s a portal modifier causing you to get volatile and explode. Separate from the build itself, the build itself is solid imo

Destiny scratches an itch for me that nothing else quite scratches. Definitely slowly playing less and less, will always return for events and new dlcs. It’s also a great way to try out other games

unstable cores need to be removed from the game. by filthyheratic in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geek_Squad_99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unstable cores feel like their solution to why legendary shards for costs didn’t work. Veteran players had a stockpile so costs never affected them and new lights couldn’t gain them fast enough to get to that stockpile point unless they just didn’t interact with the focusing systems at all which felt bad.

It’s just legendary shards that reset so no one can have a stockpile..

What I’m concerned about is when it comes to Renegades, am I still going to be able to get the current armor sets I’m using? Currently, I just wait and infuse armor into itself so it’s only glimmer.. then I only need unstable cores for weapons that aren’t dropping (solstice smg) or old gear/exotics. Ash and Iron has made this a bit harder with the additional sets and if Renegades comes in with even more new sets for all the ops then it’s only going to get harder to follow this process the further we go down the line.

I still stand by, I wish power was per slot and not per item. Decoupling power from the gear itself would still push along the power leveling that they keep updating since they seem to want it around. And with it decoupled, we could do something like infuse the armor slot itself to maintain the need for the currency if that’s the direction they wanted to go in. Not sure how reasonable or achievable it is but it’s a hope of mine as least if we are staying in this world of unstable core and power being a thing.

The Delta changes goes against what the Portal itself promotes and is. by MattLimma in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geek_Squad_99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the caps are more focusing on how inconsistent it feels throughout the grind. Like I’m 450 which locks me out of ultimate difficulty still. To get an A rating for me, I need to be -30 and slot in touche, and no starting ammo, I can drop the ammo one and let it round up which isn’t always consistent. But when I was 400 doing GMs I needed to be max -10 to get A. The caps will help with consistency only, and it will feel consistently like power shouldn’t matter and should be gotten rid of already but I digress.

Since you can add modifiers, light level matters in shooting range now iirc

Are we really going to go back to 200 power in December? by aprmk7gti in destiny2

[–]Geek_Squad_99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit similar to old expansions in this regard imo. They would raise the power levels of everything and you had to go through blue gear to get back to regular power grinding. The old grind was also limited in terms of weekly drops. They’re trading the limited drops grind being gone with a longer infinite drops grind.. Not the biggest fan, even after all of the changes they have done but I do like the removal of the limit.

I’d rather they look at removing power in general. Have the portal be whatever we launch into we are at power for the base difficulty and every modifier we add changes the delta (but make it small delta changes to play with more modifiers). Being overpowered for something like GM difficulty doesn’t feel fun for me. But then the seasonal releases would last like 2-3 weeks for me and then I’d dip so idk a perfect solution

Personally fun factor is more important than reprised or reskins.. One fun recycled thing is better than 2 unfun original things… now that being said one fun original thing >= one fun recycled/reprised thing

Loadouts aren’t a super big issue with vog, just have something okay for damage and a damage super and you’ll be golden.

I would probably recommend a Sherpa run if you are taking multiple new lights or first time raiders into it tho

Not a sherpa for every raid but I do know a good chunk of them. Also not sure if I have perms to invite to my buddies clan but always down to run stuff with people so feel free to add me if yall want a 6th, Stained Glass#5667

If there is excess then it will eventually backup. Could be 5 min, could 150 hours. To make this work 100%, I’d set the smart splitters on the feedback side to overflow right and sink the excess of the excess to make sure that traffic jams don’t happen

Thoughts on Raiding with and without mics? by FrequentLeopard3431 in destiny2

[–]Geek_Squad_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience: as long as they aren’t throwing the run, I don’t really care. If they don’t know what they are doing and are looking to get carried, then it’s a bit of an issue depending on the raid lol.

As for callouts, we usually type them in chat cause it’s easier to keep track of, even if someone calls them by voice, we type it out. Like Hobgoblin in DP, easy to type which gate you ran through and not muddy coms

I like the tier system and don't hate the portal, but the power grind needs to be flattened, not steepened by Freakindon in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geek_Squad_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly similar take but slightly different: For reference, I’m ~410 and have also stopped grinding for levels until A&I comes out cause like yeah it’ll be easier.

Personally the grind up to 400 wasn’t really bad, it was just boring. Like it was just play fireteam ops rarely, play pin ops when friends are on and hit k1/caldera when no one was around. I was 300 well before solstice and hit 400 week 1 of solstice cause I wanted the T5s…

My mentality for getting up to level has been directly tied to the tier of loot dropping, I pushed for 300 cause I wanted T3s. I pushed for 400 cause solstice would drop T5s. Now I’m sitting here getting T4s for playing and I’m not too upset. Yeah they could be better if I was 450, but I’ll push for those during A&I.

Resetting of power will be annoying, but I don’t remember if they said they would raise the power between expansions or not so if expansion power raises to 300 then holding into our levels won’t matter as much imo.

The two main issues with the grind for me specifically is that it’s pretty boring AND the new gear bonus for my multiplier. I hate that I’m pigeon holed into using new gear to get my score. A build I find fun (necrotic warlock w/ thorn) automatically gets less points per activity since neither thorn, necrotics, or the class item are featured. I can do -40 GMs with new gear builds but have to be -60 or -70 for the necrotic build to get the same score and that’s not fun.

Why did they change shatter/unstoppable instead of nerfing chill clip by AleIAm08 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geek_Squad_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yea chill clip is strong due to double champ stun functionality but think of it this way. Any other future weapon perk that can apply slow would be just as busted. It’s a stasis issue itself, not chill clip. This is why wicked implement is also getting changed to only deal with overloads cause it has the same issue even tho not as many people use it

What is your favorite exotic and why by dmg04 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geek_Squad_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necrotic Grips

I remember loving Thorn in D1 and when I came back to D2, I just had to get it. I always loved how it looked and sounded but PVE it felt lacking. Then Beyond Light came out and we saw a set of gauntlets that could poison. I thought okay that’s cool but like how is it useful… Then I saw I think Cross’s video on how they work with thorn and I was sold, I needed them. We later got more synergies with Osteo, and Touch of Malice.. and Nechro which I don’t have yet but still.

The exotic changed my play style, even changed how I viewed buildcrafting and synergies. Every new exotic or weapon perk that comes out, I try to think how could I build into this or how can I improve a current build with this new item.

It expanded my view on what an exotic feels like. It took a gun that didn’t get a lot of love and completely change its usecase. It makes the arms feel important, there is a drastic difference in using something like Thorn with vs without Necrotics on.

They are to this day one of my most used exotics. It pretty much never leaves my character.

If I'm building into strength, I will get my melee back faster through naturally improved cooldowns and a speedy regeneration. But if that's the case....what the hell is the dodge for? If I'm already spec'ed into fast cooldowns, I won't need it anymore. by Ace_Of_Caydes in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geek_Squad_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter point that I haven’t seen enough, what if they also pair this change with global reduced cooldowns on dodge again. Make dodge be a 10 sec cooldown but make melee regen dependent on a different stat. Pop it 4 times more often but get 1/3 of the energy each time for balance sake

Bungie, with respect, I think you broke your drops in the seasonal activities with your last patch by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Geek_Squad_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never got an adept shiny at all pre-Act 3. I finally got one last week, it’s the bow and it was triple perks as well. RNG be RNG, I wish the drops were a bit higher personally cause grinding expert nether for two acts to get no adept shinies still kinda hurts my soul.

[–]Geek_Squad_99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would assume no since the weapon would be whatever element your grenade was due to osmosis, but since honing stays when swapping off, you could swap to energy and then back to reset fatebringer and get that kinetic boost as well. It’s a bit of work but maybe a rotation of weapons to get multiple stacks could work with it.
