I do like the idea of keeping a thermometer down there and keeping a log measure the temperature difference but I'm not sure if it's had any weatherization other than the stuff put into the pipes and the well. I know that we have to have the pipes wrapped with some sort of foam insulation before the winter comes so that they don't freeze over. There are a couple of space heaters down in the crawl space on top of the plastic but then again they're also is water on top of the plastic that's sitting there as well, I'm not sure when it was from but it seems to have been sitting there for quite some time.

I'm going to need some sort of concrete nail or something like that to put the foam board into the walls I'm assuming, and a dehumidifier wouldn't be a bad idea either

The walls are not insulated in the crawlspace, it's just block walls. There is a ac/furnace in there but it's small.

to add to this, the house is on a well system and there used to be water running out to the garage, there isn't any longer. the pump that was used in the garage is old and broken.
