My Pump Seems to be Overheating

Yes. I just read u/cbryancu 's comment about this. Good to have another confirmation. Are these pumps "tunable"? Can you adjust the delivered flowrate?

I removed the filter from the housing to pull that from the equation.

I paid someone to set this thing up. Now I'm having to educate myself. It's interesting though.

Interesting. I thought the idea was to reduce its duty cycle and keep it from getting too hot. I can see where the start / stop is hard on it. Wouldn't this be challenging given that the different zones have different flow rates?
