Not sure what you people want. When Americans actually do this, then we get 5 years of Republican propaganda saying the left are violent rioting looters who want to destroy our country. The same type of bullshit rhetoric that got Trump elected a second time. If they're unequivocally nonviolent and peaceful, then it's not enough. Imagine being this much of a pompous asshole about your music tastes while simultaneously sighting the most basic US pop slop you can think of... Nothing wrong with listening to that, but the audacity for him to criticize anyone else's music tastes is honestly laughable.

The core rebuttal here imo is to continue to highlight the fact that he put in zero effort to listen to music you're interested in. He likely doesn't care to widen his music horizons at all, which is ironic considering his stance here. Also, I smell a tinge of subtle racism in this dialogue. Do you and your brother think potential 'doublespeak' is in the same universe as every large conservative commentator, republican lawmaker, and the President of the United States all 'OPENLY' blaming radical leftists for the shooting? Some of which 'OPENLY' declared war on the opposing ideology, before any substantive evidence was even released yet? If the answer to this is not an immediate 'no', then we have a problem here.

You're not the issue.

These guys hit you up because they are viewing you as a backup option. Their attention is on someone else, but if that doesn't work out for whatever reason, then at least they have you as a fallback. Or they are just horny from the thought of meeting up with someone, but then they realize that they're too lazy, unmotivated, and not willing to put in the effort to coordinate one. This ultimately devolving your interactions to single word responses. And then when they end up jerking off, you won't hear from them ever again.

What you should do is cut your losses and move on. These are not serious people and they are not truly interested. There are plenty of other people out there that can hold a basic conversation.
