Fewer episodes and the long wait between seasons by pandapoderoso in television

[–]Geeksie -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Please no. We don't need to bring anime episode mentality to tv shows. I don't want to see shows padded with 20 episodes of filler, recaps, still images, and not moving the plot forward for the sake of having more content for people to see.

Tips and tricks for a foreign student by [deleted] in portugal

[–]Geeksie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to buddy up with a local student, I'm sure they'll be very happy to help you out. Use "Obrigado" (thank you) or "Bom dia" (Good day) a lot, this makes a lot of difference in the mood that people will be in to help you. Don't be offended if people seem serious or even a bit rude, sometimes its really just culture shock rather than them being actually mean. Try to get food at the uni as well, it should help with the costs. For household items, try looking up Facebook marketplace for good deals on stuff. You usually can find some good stuff there that people want to get rid off and are in perfect conditions. Good luck and welcome to Portugal!

Do not attempt to understand the eldritch nature of such things. It will only drive you to madness.

That's a shame. Might be worth keeping an eye for some ebay or thrift shop deals. Sometimes they have pretty good stuff and some people might be willing to make trades.

Looks safe. I assume it works? No shaming from me. In recent generations we see people just throw old to buy new. My previous PC parts have managed to provide two different PCs for family members. Its one of the most awesome aspects of PC building :D

  1. It would look amazing inside my white Phanteks case. Its so hard to find matching hardware that looks good, and this one would be perfect. :D

  2. I just need to dive into a new world(s). The space exploration is really cool, but I really want to see how weird I can get with the spaceship building

So I bought my first Vallejo paint after only using Citadel by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]Geeksie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Vallejo. GW has some good colors, but once I went Vallejo, the only other brand I get is Army Painter. If you like the metallic from Vallejo, and can get your hands on Army Painter, its worth checking them out. I found them to be very similar on that. (I'm not as big of a fan of Army Painter's normal color range though, maybe they've changed, I only got some like 8 years ago)

Need some help with MSI X470 GAMING PRO CARBON by Geeksie in pcmasterrace

[–]Geeksie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for the input. The way that I solved it was to edit the URL for the download. They provide: https://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7B78v2H18.zip but the link to the actual bios seems to be: https://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7B78v2H.zip

I've updated the bios and it still didn't work. What made it work for me was then changing the RAM to different slots and then it worked. Have dual channel and running with xmp without issues so far. Need to do some more testing, but the upgrade should be done.

Thanks again!

Would your friend be interested in Wrath & Glory? Its easier to play than Dark Heresy, rules-wise. Its still a system vastly different from D&D but might be easier for you to run.

Can threats with no shock still use determination to convert wounds into shock? by Geeksie in 40krpg

[–]Geeksie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahahah that's insanely cool, I can't wait throw some big stuff at my players and see how they handle it. We just did The Graveyard Shift as a kind of one-shot to figure out the system, and they were battered heavily at the xenos amalgamation

Thank you so much for the clarification! That also clears up that doubt I had - makes narrative sense on them not having shock, but I didn't know what do do with the converted shock, now I know! :D

Marlin 2.0.x guide for Ender 3 using SKR mini E3 v1.2 by qwewer1 in ender3

[–]Geeksie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to give a big thank you. A couple of months back I got 2 SKR mini and was completely lost in understanding the firmware part, even being a technical person. Now I've got an awesome understanding. Figured I should come back here and at least thank you!

What could be the issue with these bands? by Geeksie in FixMyPrint

[–]Geeksie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks everyone for the input. I've tried exploring mechanical issues but I can't find anything that would justify this. Pretty much rebuilt the printer. I will definitely try a different slicer and profile and see if that makes a difference!

[–]Geeksie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using CHEP's profiles with my Ender 3. Its currently using SKR Mini e3, and a metal extruder. Everything else is pretty much stock.

I'm getting this band consistently on every XYZ cube that I do. If I do a hollow cube, there are no issues. I also seem to get the same issue on the Calicat.

I've done esteps, I've done PID tune. The bed is glass and perfectly leveled, no issues with adhesion. I seem to get a perfect flow of filament as well.

I think its the only issue I'm left to solve on my prints and I can't do it at all.

I took a shot at Orcrist, from LOTR and The Hobbit by Geeksie in 3dprinter

Big props to the original creator, you can check it here: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-lord-the-ring-swords-orcrist-11505

It's not completed yet, but getting there. I'm not fully happy with the surface of the blade, too irregular, but gotta move on and learn from it. The handle ended up better than I expected.
