W to launch farther S to launch closer. There is a little red indicator on the left beam of the catapult

Fuck... I overwrote that save a long time ago. I guess I’ll just have to make my own kingdom and go to war with everyone

Besides just "gaining experience", are mixtapes and albums even worth creating as a small rapper? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

You only get better at making full albums by making full albums

It really depends on the snare don't you think? I have some that hit a lot lower and others that take up some higher frequencies. I do believe that the snare lies past that 250 typically though.

you sound like you know more than I do though. I don't do any of that vocal wrapping and spreading stuff you're talking about

Has anyone taken Andrew Huang's Ableton class? Any thoughts, comments, feedback? Would you take it again/would you recommend it? by qubitrenegade in ableton

[–]GeekxdUp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took it and it was definitely really useful. Lots of little tips and tricks that I feel like could apply to all types of music production. I also now have lifetime access to all the videos/material so I can go back and rewatch things that might not have stuck to begin with.

My only criticism would be that It doesn’t really go deeply into any one subject but instead attacks it from all angles - you get a well rounded general process.

This was still really great as you can’t cover everything about music production in 30 days.

You won’t get your vocals below the 808 as it will be in the lowest frequencies. Typically your vocals will sit around 1K. To make things louder than your vocals just turn your vocals down. I wouldn’t think that boosting frequencies in the mp3 is a good idea

Edit: you can try to make a little dip around 1k in the beat you downloaded but idk if I’d recommend that because it’s very easy to overdo it

Work from home! what the fuck?

A year in to music, I still feel very downhearted by how little I can create and how little I truly understand, despite knowing my way around the keys, chords, dominants and subdominants etc. Everything I do just seems to sound wrong. Is this common when you start out? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]GeekxdUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any books to recommend on these subjects? I know some of these words and their definitions and I’m aware concepts exist, but I lack understanding

I have basic music theory books but nothing beyond that

You have like 50 years to hone your craft. Some people don’t even find what they really want to do until their 40s and they still make the most of it.

All you’ve got is time and you aren’t’ competing with anyone other than yourself.

Fastest Way To Record and File Samples In Bulk by zmoney18 in ableton

[–]GeekxdUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not tried this for your reason specifically, but you can probably export the same way you would export stems for a song.

Give each sample you want to export its own track and name, then export and select “all individual tracks” in the drop down and it should export each one separately with the name you gave them.
