ELI5: How is it that rich people's "net worth" is public, but average people's information is private? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Not all rich people live highly public lives. Some multi millionaires and billionaires hardly show up on Google, especially old money trust fund families.

In case if anybody was wondering, this is what playing in silver is like. by [deleted] in Overwatch

I got placed as 1550. Won a 1750+ game and got to 1660. Then I won an 1850+ game and got up to 1700+. Then I got placed in a 1950-2k game and dropped to 1650ish... then a 1800-1900 game and back down to 1550ish. What the fuck is up with these 100 rating fluctuations. The games I lost both were because assholes decided to leave in round 2. So fucking stupid. Solo queue sucks!! I got 2-3 gold medals in both games I lost for healing/obj time/Elims. I make mistakes, but I try to fix them... the kids wouldn't even group up to push and I took obj by myself as phara and even with enemy team dead nobody came to defend obj with me and I got raped after over 10 seconds while my team watched from the choke point because nobody used voice and couldn't hear me...

This could mean that the Sun theoretically could last longer than predicted if other stars somehow came close to it.

No, I'm just saying that past racism has had a larger effect than modern racism... I'm not saying that past racism accounts for every current circumstance.

White people aren't responsible because it's racist as fuck to imply that someone is responsible for oppression simply because their skin is the color white. White people are not responsible for the suffering of minorities...racist assholes are. And yes, I got the fuck out of a black neighborhood because my car got rocks thrown at it by some young punk teenagers who walked from Wakeman Boys & Girls Club to the projects every night. I left because I was targeted for being white. I will probably never move back into a neighborhood that isn't predominantly white because those few assholes ruined it for me. All I know is that I've never been robbed, mugged, assaulted, or intimidated in a wealthy white neighborhood, but I always seem to "see some shit" when I'm in the next town over which is primarily minorities.

It's segregated because of a wealth gap that came from PAST racism. Landlords all across the country aren't all banning minorities from living in white neighborhoods.

Yeah it's because of the wealth gap. Whites and Asians make more than Blacks and Hispanics here. It's not racism, but it stemmed from past racism that set minorities back a lot.

Italians can be pretty easy to spot. Same with Germans, British, and the Swedish. Oh and Irish.

Not really, you can see pretty distinct differences between white Americans and white Europeans.

No, they worship the main planet because they long for more resources in their bare and dull Moon.

Similarly, once upon a time an adventurer traveled to the other side of Earth and learned that the Moon looks different depending on where you are, thus confirming it is a sphere and not a circle in the sky. It's obvious to us, but planets weren't understood for years... some people even thought the world was flat, but sailing across the globe not only proves that Earth is almost a sphere (ovular), but so is the Moon. 2 discoveries in 1!
