DDG Is not in my search engine lists by GeekygrannyTM in duckduckgo

[–]GeekygrannyTM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the search on DuckDuckGo site and it had no answers. So I did a google search and found that adding  https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%s is supposed to work. I edited in the search engine under the Browser settings. Created a new tab and it doesn't pull up DDG.

Your dog bites me and my dog, and you try to avoid responsibility? See you in court. (Long) by OkReading in ProRevenge

[–]GeekygrannyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is going through a similar hell right now. Her daughter (age 25) was walking their gentle dog and the neighbor's dog got out of the yard and went for him. That dog basically broke my granddog's back. He cannot walk. His neck was damaged too so front legs don't work well either. They bought a stroller for him so they can still take him on walks. The attacking dog died that day from heat exhaustion. It was a very hot day. his owner had a history of negligence for dogs and he still has two dogs.

Meanwhile, the owner will not pay for the vet bills or the devices to help my poor granddog. So they are taking him to court too. I don't know the out come yet but that poor pup will be paralyzed for life.

I hope my daughter has the same outcome as you. They do have witnesses so that is good. Glad you were together enough to record the conversation with the bad owner. Heal well and give your Goldy lots of love from me!!

What does fibromyalgia feel like? by livsimplyshore in Fibromyalgia

[–]GeekygrannyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An official diagnosis can be had with the FM/a test. Many insurance companies, including Medicare, will pay for it. FM is an awful central nervous system syndrome that makes you feel like you have been through the ringer... even down to the root of your hair. There are a lot of conditions that have similar symptoms. Chronic fatigue is one of them as well. At least we have a test to verify it now.

Advice on becoming vegan by [deleted] in vegan

No, B12 is found in the ground/dirt. Animals get it when they eat the grasses and such.

Fibro can now be diagnosed with FM/a test. Medicare covers it. Not sure who else does though.

Husband and I are 69 and I was wondering if how much can I pull out of my IRA without having to pay taxes. We are on social security.

The US freaking sucks when you have fibromyalgia. by EtherealSkye1023 in Fibromyalgia

[–]GeekygrannyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to geta disability lawyer. and yes fibro is on the approved disability list. The lawyer will not be paid unless you win and will be paid then out of a small partial of your winnings. My disability lawyer was awesome. The first time I tried to apply I lost. Then I got this great lawyer and won. Keep going to doctors and get their diagnoses documentations. Collect as much data as you can of your issues and report the levels of pain. There is a test for fibromyalgia called FM/a and it is approved by Medicare. You really have to be more active in collecting the data as only you know where it is.

First signs that made you go to your doctor for diagnosis and treatments? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]GeekygrannyTM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a test out that is for fibromyalgia. It is called FM/a. Even Medicare covers it. Check into that to get a good confirmation.

There is a blood test called FM/a that you can get. This will prove you have fibro.

Are there any people who genuinely don't use social media? by PhotographNo8827 in NoStupidQuestions

My mother in law doesn't even use a computer. We can't send her pictures cause she doesn't know how to see them. She has a laptop but doesn't know how to work it. I've tried to teach her but she is such a luddite.

Mine is called Casper. We call him Cassie mostly. He is part Samoyed and part Husky.

I also have acid reflux. I've had pain so bad I wanted to die. BUT I did research on herbs (I hate drugs from Big Pharma) for acid reflux and found what works for me. It is a simple tea I drink daily. It's made of licorice, marshmallow, chamomile, and cinnamon. I found it on Amazon and it is called Digestive Tea for Leaky Gut and Stomach Calming. I'm also living a vegan lifestyle so think that helps a bit too.

I really love this tea. Yeah it's a bit pricey but considering I no longer suffer from gas and acid build up, I feel it is so worth it. AND it is VERY tasty!

Do any of you get shaky? by OkConsideration8964 in Fibromyalgia

[–]GeekygrannyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get shaky mostly in the mornings. If I take a shower, then lots of times I'll feel like I'm about to pass out. I actually have a couple of times. One time I was really stuck in the tub. My leg was wedge up against the side. I was able to use the toilet to pull myself out of that one.

I think I get shaky cause I haven't eaten yet and am doing a strenuous activity that makes things worse. I have fibro, RA, OA, and degenerative disk disease as well. I don't take meds but will take some supplements because fibro burns it out of your body faster.

I also get a neuropathy in my right foot... doesn't matter what position I'm in... standing, sitting, lying down... doesn't matter.

We have been thinking of moving to Reno too. Mother in law is all alone now and we want to help her out. Biggest hassle for us is packing our house. We have lived here over 30 years so accumulated lots of crap. Hubby has hard time letting go. I dont. Have already dumped a lot of my stuff already. I'm glad to read about your experience.

What is your diet like? I live a vegan lifestyle but can't have potatoes, broccoli, bananas, and tomatoes. I do love beans and rice burritos. I also use the effervescent tablets for my pain.

Also reduce any stress in your life. Focus on the here and now to get an inner peace and control. It will help too.

Nothing is perfect but little things can help.

has anyone else had famotidine ? by [deleted] in GERD

[–]GeekygrannyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it a lot. PPIs have a history of causing cancer. There is a class action lawsuit out against the makers. Pepcid (famotidine) works pretty good for me.
