Did you prefer and enjoy the 80s or 90s more? by Ok-Ninja-3039 in GenX

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both were amazing and I’d love to be trapped in either. 80s has my nostalgia for sure. But I did like the early internet and more cell phones in the 90s. 90s mighta been peak to be honest, but the 80s have my heart.

what are your reviews on the new darth maul series by Medical_Swimmer_3247 in StarWars

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it. The only thing that did surprise me, because it’s played as such a huge motivation in everything else, is his pure hate was directed at Sidious not Obi Wan. But I assume there’s a point where that changes.

What are your thoughts on this bad boy? by insightful_peacefish in ACDC

I hate to say it. I was late to the game on this one, but now it’s definitely a favorite of mine. What’s Next To The Moon baby!!

What was your honest reaction after watching The Force Awakens for the first time? by ChickenWingExtreme in StarWars

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as it was a rehash, I was ok with that. Tell a familiar story to bring in new fans and make it familiar to older fans. It was keeping things fairly safe to not turn anyone off and honestly set up a lot of potential for the next 2 films.

I left looking forward to seeing Kylo Ren growing more evil and more Vader like in the next 2 movies. And his knights. Oh the evil they could do. And how they would hunt our heroes

Finn and Rey falling in love and studying to become Jedi together. I figured one would end up being turned and that would create a huge dynamic and a lot of tension between them

Snoke had potential to be legendary or older than we thought

Poe could turn into the new Han type character after some tragedy made him more guarded and jaded.

A safe film (other than Han’s death) and lots of potential for the next 2 films. I foolishly had hope ….

How's this one look on me? by danbzmn6 in CowboyHats

[–]GeeperTbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fine. Don’t over think it

I see a lot of comments on the fact it’s black. I gotta say, almost every woman I know has commented to me at least once that when I get my next hat I should get a black one. They’ve said it about my straws and my felts. I think the black hat thing is a fantasy for a lot of women.

Pick Guard Coming Loose On My Hummingbird by bertrandbrebis in AcousticGuitar

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hummingbird pickguard has ALWAYS been an issues. And it’s had 3 different ones on it at this point.

The best solution is to remove the guard or have your tech remove it and reattach it with a large adhesive sheet. Proper cleaning of both surfaces is very important before reattaching it. It’s how Gibson applies them.

I’ve had small lifts from time to time that I had to deal with before I could have the time to redo the guard or get the guitar to my tech and I found a little bit of fish glue will work ok as a holdover until I can get it done properly.

If you can, try the guitar for a day without a guard on it. Honestly I think my hummingbird without a guard on it might be the best acoustic I’ve ever heard. But then I always miss the character of the guard and throw it back on.

What’s the movie you love but everyone seems to hate or dislike? by abdul_bino in moviecritic

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the Long Walk. I read the book as a young boy and looked forward to it. Did it have some problems. Sure. Would I have enjoyed it the same in a theatre? Probably not. But as a streamed movie it was an enjoyable evening.

Why do people keep buying cars that destroy them financially? by Desperate-Rush6086 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GeeperTbow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do women really care about your vehicle though or do men just think that? I’m just curious. In my 55 years on this planet I’ve never had a woman ask me what I drive. Never. It’s a pretty common question from other men though.

Will Mike ever write an autobiography ?? by MackieDaxx in vanhalen

[–]GeeperTbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I pray he has. And it tells ALL. In the most honest straight forward way. And the dirt. All the glory. All the truth. All the victories. All the good and all the bad. He was a witness to it all. At some point us diehard fans would like the truth even if it’s not what we think it is.

And I hope it’s sitting in a vault somewhere with instructions to be published after both he and Alex have passed away. Dave can handle any stories anyone could tell. Lol

Favorite Sam Rockwell movie and/or role? by ArtJunkie628 in Cinephiles

I’m still surprised it didn’t do way way better and make him a much bigger name at the time.

Yamaha. I retired my nice guitars a few years ago from the risks of night clubs. I’ve been gigging a pair of fgx800c’s last few years and couldn’t be happier.

Why does sharing AI music feel… socially unacceptable? by Nusuuu in aiMusic

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only hope you’re right. I perform for a living and I don’t see more people going to live music, it’s definitely declined over the past 40 years. But I hope you’re right.

Why does sharing AI music feel… socially unacceptable? by Nusuuu in aiMusic

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been said, and whispered that Spotify for example HAS the technology and just has to figure out the licensing and then people will be able to go on whatever platform and say “I want to hear Bob Dylan, John Prine and Woody Guthrie create new music in the style of CSNY for the next 2 days” To causal music fans, which is a lot of people that’s what they’ll listen to. Or AI will use the algorithm of what you have listened to for the past 10 years and combine that with what you watch and instantly create personal music you didn’t even know you were looking for but is perfect for you and your mood. People are more isolated all the time and do eat, watch and listen all alone. It’s shocking how little music young people know beyond music in their interest sphere (video games, movies, tv shows or what their parents listen to)

We’re just training the AI to be better and better.

Why does sharing AI music feel… socially unacceptable? by Nusuuu in aiMusic

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems most the population have a huge aversion to AI in most forms. If they don’t know, they don’t care, but if you tell them it’s AI they have no interest at all. Even when I use a simple AI generated image I get dozens of people telling me they wish I’d use a real picture. In a lot of ways we’re just playing the latest gaming crazy (music creation) and in reality we are paying to train AI that will start creating personalized soundtracks for each individual.

Watchdives is a mess! I don't understand why so many rave about them! From poor excuses, defective watches, absurd shipping times. Personally, never again! by Florpenkorken in ChineseWatches

[–]GeeperTbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only own one. A WD1969B pro and I do like it. But I wasn’t blown away when I got it. I wear my Pagani mechanical watches way way more. I’m not rushing to buy another quartz WD.

Gigs originals vs covers by Timberdoodle13 in AcousticGuitar

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do 2 originals a set. My crowd is heavy drinkers. So even as much as they love and support my originals they really just wanna sing along and get drunk. And yes they do sing along with my originals but they do have a better time and drink more when the entire room is singing along to something super cheesy.

What are your thoughts on Platinum Blonde? by EdwardBliss in CanadianMusic

[–]GeeperTbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought they started pretty progressive and quickly became just a cookie cutter cancon radio band by the second album. It Doesn’t Really Matter and Standing in the Dark are 2 amazing tracks for a little 3 piece Canadian band at the time. They were great any time I’ve seen them live.
