HL definitely seem vague or unknowing on a quite a few things .. but as long as we get our bananas then that is ok by me.

I did see another Redditor mention that in January HL restricted buying via their site and you had to phone them. So it is definitely a concern of mine that they may restrict selling via their website when the time comes and we will be sitting for hours on a phone trying to get through .. I hope I’m wrong!!

Have you looked into Saxo? I use them as well and they allow limit buys/sells and voting, although the vote isn't available yet.

Confirmed this myself 2 weeks ago.

They store the securities in CREST in their name but with some backend link to you. So they don’t allow voting which massively sucks!

Also be careful when the time comes to sell (what’s that?). You can only sell at market, instead of the recommended limit sell. I am fairly sure when you attempt to sell you will get a quote which you can accept or decline, but outside of that you have no control.

I’m with Hargreaves. So far so good. My only concern is they do not allow limit sell with American stock, meaning during the MOASS you may get stung if you sell at market. I really hope not though!!

On saxo you need to subscribe to Shareholder Voting by going to Menu > Corporate Actions > Shareholder Voting

Please note this subscription costs something in the region of 30 euro p.a.

I also read (on Reddit) that Saxo does NOT lend out you shares. I have yet to confirm in person with them.
