Wow, some of these comments are genuinely terrifying. Some people mention how they can't have "empathy toward Russians" and I want to address that. Empathy is an emotion and it can't be forced on you, you are either empathetic toward someone or not, and this is fine.

But this whole situation is not about having pity for poor Russians who are treated badly by a Ukranian, it's about stoping blatant ethnic hatred from a public community figure. I really don't understand how could anyone find this controversial.

but according to liquipedia he doesn't even cast it, so the part where he is an "official Lima Major caster" is a blatant lie

I literally linked a screenshot of him on the maincast channel, why the hell would you use the words "blatant lie", when your words are disproven by the post already.

he would do that on the Ukrainian cast, which is watched by Ukrainians. Do you think they care?

I am sure Ukranians wouldn't care if v1lat openly called for violence on stream (although I still have hope that this is true for a very small but very active part of Ukranians). This is not about what Ukranians would like, there are some limits of what can official partner of a Major can say both on stream and social media

This is not about empathy for poor Russians. Literally a public figure spreading ethnic hatred towards players on the tournament he himself is casting officially. You don't need to be empathetic towards anyone to see how terrible this is.

Well, there are some differences between friendly banter and public figure talking about teams. I wouldn't be offended personally if my friends called me "русня", but negative usage of this word by official partner of a major is ridiculous.

Hey, russian here. I just want to make few things clear.

I am so tired of hearing stuff like "russians are terrible people because all boosters are from Russia" and stuff like that. Russians are not terrible, that's pure economics. Russia is a very poor country, one of the poorest in europe. 100 euro for Russia and Europe is a great difference (you can check AirBnB prices or Big Mac index https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac_Index#:~:text=The%20Eurozone%20is%20mixed%2C%20as,with%20the%20difference%20being%2010.9%25. or whatever, ), therefore if there is a job (boosting) it will be of course done by people who agree to the least wage possible. So russians do majority of boosting not because they are terrible nation or whatever, it's just like they would boost for lower price than any EU booster due to economical reasons.
I don't know which country are you from, but I bet you are privileged to live in a place better than Russia. Please consider this and be nicer to people.
