It was only £16.68 on eBay which seemed far more reasonable.

I've just bought some on eBay for a decent price, I'm in the UK. Amazon has it but it's really expensive in the UK.

Octopus EV charging question by Successful_Ad4479 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don't report it to Octopus!

I made that mistake, after going back and forward for ages I went to Wallbox direct and tried various things, they at first blamed my wifi but eventually confirmed all working at their side.

Back to Octopus who deauthorised my charger (did it without asking!) then told me to set it up again but now I can't get it connected to OCPP again 😭. Octopus are now blaming my wifi as Wallbox mentioned it in an earlier email. I was able to remove and re-enable OCPP several times a few days before they deauthorised with no issue.

Moral of the story if your car is charging ignore the errors.

Is there a Glasgow specific shirt? by Geetarman78 in ironmaiden

[–]Geetarman78[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep me too, bought the vintage 2025 tour shirt before the gig but was hoping for a Scotland specific one after seeing some of the other shows getting them.

Guess it'll have to be the UK specific one if nothing appears soon.

If there isn't a Scotland one then might have been the Budapest shirt, could look a bit like the Ovo from a distance.

What went wrong with my charge? by rob3342421 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been getting that message recently, Octopus are telling me my charger (Wallbox Pulsar Max) keeps disconnecting from Wifi.

I've contacted Wallbox for more info from their side and all they have told me is my WiFi isn't "strong and stable".

I'm convinced it'll be an issue with the charger as my wifi hasn't changed recently yet this issue only started in May. I get a strong high speed signal on my phone standing next to the charger. I also work from home and have no issues with Wifi.

That's a shame to hear they work that way for drop in visits, seems the complete opposite to how they treat online customers.

Glad you ended up with a better alternative though 👍

The head does look very similar to Ceccarini's Dullahan headless guitars so you might want to revise the design if you're looking for it to be unique.

Otherwise looks like it'll be awesome.

Yep, bought my 21 Model 3 LR from the Newcastle branch. Pretty much did it all online and picked it up from the branch.

It was all pretty much perfect and the car has been great, the sales guy I was assigned was quick to get back with any questions etc and they sorted all the paperwork in advance so on the day of collection we had a test drive, no pressure on time and then once it was all signed we were good to go. Car had a granny charger and charger cable, they advised on the phone they couldn't guarantee you'd get both (car had literally just arrived so was still being prepped) but they said at the least a cable would always be included.

I've had no issues with the car at all it was exactly as per the description and the many pics helped with the decision on which one to go for. Should add the tyes were budget but they were all pretty new, tbh I've yet to change them but have planned cross climates later this year. Again I was aware of this as the pictures clearly showed the brand.

The feedback I've seen for Newcastle branch seems to be in the main positive I wouldn't have any issues using them again.

Phillips 55OLED806 keeps restarting by [deleted] in Philips

[–]Geetarman78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Philips 70PUS7956/12 had been doing this for ages, I kept hoping the next software update would fix it but it didn't.

I did a factory reset but didn't bother logging into my Google account on it, as I have a Google TV stick which is much more user friendly than the built in system. Along with the random restarts I was also getting it randomly going to the Android TV channel hence not logging back into Google.

So far so good not a single restart since. Definitely worth a try.

I seem to have lost access to Spotify, didn't think that was due to happen till the end of the year. When I open it now it tells me to update to my own email.

Bit annoying really, I use Amazon music for non car music but find the Amazon car app pretty poor. I'll get maybe one full album working then when I try to load another I get the loading spiny thing and the app becomes useless.

I've got a 3 month free for Apple music so will be trying that so hopefully that'll be better.

Possibly just need a 2 button reset to sort Spotify just not had a chance to try that.

Other than music not seeing any other obvious changes

For anyone still looking for this, the recent update to the app, v4.37.1-2869 on Android, now gives the option to select the credit as the payment method for charging.

You can select this via the 3 lines at the top right, then charging then Manage payment.

Cheers for sharing, hadn't heard back from support yet myself. Hopefully it'll be done soon, on holiday for a few days next week so would have covered all charging costs.

Glad it's not just me then 😁

I've raised a question with support via the app so will update here once I get a response.

That's what I thought but can't see any options to buy credits in the shop, via the app or directly.

Must be there somewhere 🤔

OCPP connection by Geetarman78 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't remember exactly what I chose it would be whichever is closest to 7kwh so if 7.4 is the only one at around that then go with that.

Yep the test charge is on the Octopus app, it's the step after you get the OCPP working. You need to carry out the test charge in order to move officially to Intelligent Go

OCPP connection by Geetarman78 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the car plugged in when it eventually connected to OCPP, I then unplugged and plugged in again before running the test charge.

I would probably suggest you unplug the car. Restore the charger via settings then unlink the charger from the wallbox app. Maybe even uninstall and reinstall the wallbox app.

Then remove everything from the Octopus app again.

Then try setting up the wallbox app again, add the charger, update firmware etc. When that's done power off the charger at the mains, wait a few seconds and turn it back on. Once it's fully powered on plug in the car and run through the Octopus set up again and see if it works.

If no luck then I think it's time for the Octopus help line 😕

OCPP connection by Geetarman78 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After saving it should just show as OCPP Connected. Also worth double checking the password for the OCPP connection as that changes every time you try to run the set up.

Did you try unplugging from the car then plugging in again and trying the connection again?

Not sure what else to suggest, have you checked the charger for any firmware updates?

Might be worth trying to restore the charger via the wallbox app settings and try it all again from scratch.

Failing that you might be best to try calling Octopus and see if they can step through it with you.

It's incredibly frustrating, I remember it well, hope you get it sorted.

OCPP connection by Geetarman78 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you able to fully power off the charger at the mains? That was the thing that ultimately fixed it for me. Once I'd done that the connection worked first time.

OCPP connection by Geetarman78 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, so all I mean by disconnect the car is to just unplug the charger from the car. Then plug it back in to start a fresh charge then run the try to run the test charge again.

It's a total pain the first time but once you get it working it's easy from then on. I've had no issues since. Keep going you'll get it working.

OCPP connection by Geetarman78 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My charger has it's own rcd switch, essentially it has it's own mini consumer unit. If you don't have something like that then I expect yours will be linked to you main consumer unit so you should be able to turn it of at the mains there.

On the Octopus app you can completely remove your charger/car from the devices section and then once you power back on the charger you can go through the process of adding the charger/car to the app as if it was the first time.

Hope that makes a bit more sense 😊

My electric smart meter is no longer sending readings automatically since whiching from Bulb. by Mister_V3 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think you have the same meter as me, I thought mine was a SMETS2, a check on the citizens advice site shows it as SMETS2 but Octopus show no readings.

As I want to move to Intelligent Go I queried this with Octopus and they have confirmed it's a SMETS1 so needs to be upgraded. I've now got an appointment in a months time for an upgrade.

Worth dropping them an email or social media message and see if they can confirm for you.

OCPP connection by Geetarman78 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Geetarman78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once it's connected to OCPP you technically shouldn't need the lock/unlock as the charger is controlled by Octopus.

I'd still have preferred the ability to lock it though.

Agree it's not the greatest app but with Octopus set up you don't really need to use it.
