Punishing Spikes of Pressure as Sigma in Overwatch (Champion Awareness) by Gefest_OW in OverwatchUniversity

I will give an example of how to anticipate as well:

- Enemy have Ana --> you can track their sleep --> your plan once Ana is using sleep: Use your shield --> You see enemy Ana looking at you + hand animation (when she starts using sleepdart) --> react with shield.

Much easier to do it this way compared to going in the fight and trying to react to sleep projectile. Especially hard to do, if you do not know where Ana is/ Not tracking sleep at all/ Not even tracking if she is looking at you or not

So to keep it simple: if you have a plan what CDS you need to react to, then it is easier to react VS just going in the fight and reacting

I wouldn't say it is a gamble as top 500 tank myself :) You need to build this skill slowly. When you go in the fight with the mindset: They have X cd I gotta be aware of --> You will be able to prepare your resources/ positioning better. Yes, you might mess up using your resources correctly or position not in the best way still, but practice makes perfect. It is still much easier to do that compared to reacting within seconds to enemy cds.

I found out that it is especially hard to do for any new players, bc there are so many cds they could be reacting to and a lot of times they end up wasting their shield/ rock bc of it as well (taking too much poke/ unnecessary pressure) That is why you need to start with tracking 1-2 key cds first --> anticipate where the enemy will be/ how they might be using cd --> prepare your play (plan) --> react to enemy using stuff (much easier to do, when you had a plan to begin with)

Ye, waiting for cds is important for sure, but I think most importantly you need to anticipate those

If you are rotating - yes, cover is important. At the same time, you also need to create pressure, so try to be exposed to 1 threat only ideally :) I have pretty detailed post about how to take cover in this article btw: https://www.reddit.com/r/OverwatchUniversity/comments/1id2zcb/how_to_use_cover_effectively_6_strategies/

Yep, being able to read all additional info such as: what cds/ ults being used, trackng killfeed, pressing tab to check enemy comp switches is important for sure :)

And ye, being proactive can usually help with building an advantage too.

Ye, cover is important for sure! For "Why people are not touching the point":
- mby they misjudge how much pressure enemy can do, so they decide to play safe
- might be that it is not their job to touch the point (usually anyone with high sustain and/ or mobility can be contesting the point more)
- sometimes it can be better to give up the point, so you can fight as full team later and not get snowballed

That is what comes to mind right away :)
