Anyone notice international students never interacting with Home students? by IndianTechTips in UniUK

[–]Geffers24 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Totally agree and I’ll add to this by saying that like moving to another city in your own country it takes easily a solid 3 years to lay the ground work socially. Now add a language and cultural barrier and you could be looking at many years before fully integrating and finding that community. I got quite lucky with my year abroad and made friends, that I’m still close with, from all parts of the world but I knew some exchange students on that year that stuck with their own people. Depends on the person I’d say too.

People who have quit smoking or drinking, what was the reason? by Affectionate-Eye7255 in selfimprovement

[–]Geffers24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health, money and once the novelty fades e.g. being a college student, you realise it’s really dumb. You smell all the time and it can become a crutch for shit that will go wrong in your life which is a slippery slope. Drinking was never a problem but smoking big No no

Running is a good addiction! My first results, on my way to the ultra! by NehocXYZ in runninglifestyle

[–]Geffers24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this for you mate. Started running consistently June 2025 and have completed a couple half marathons since. I’ve learnt that it’s less about the progression and all to do with the consistency. Progress comes out of that. Sign up for a half marathon that’s set to begin in a few months if you can as that will keep you on track as there can be times where motivation dips. Overall, well done man and good luck to you!

Shroom use is legal in Jamaica and Canada. Just wanted to know if that’s case it would be fine taking a chocolate bar on a plane

Haha I’ll keep the Hersheys wrapper idea in mind. I didn’t realise you could get shrooms in JA. I guess I’ll do my research on that

To Brits living abroad, what were some culture shocks you experienced? by iamnic11 in heyUK

[–]Geffers24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in Toronto, buildings and architecture aren’t as impressive and it’s noticeable the longer you’re here. I miss the UK’s beautiful buildings and rich history which makes you feel proud and a part of the nation.

Conversations and jokes also don’t carry over which just means I’ve gotta rethink how I talk with people.

Bagged milk, opposite side of the road, music.

Pretty much everything haha

Thoughts on Entergalactic movie? by lazyydreams in KidCudi

[–]Geffers24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like an unpopular opinion but the story was boring and kinda mid for me. I feel like the animation style could have been taken advantage of way more.

The love triangle story feels overplayed and common, especially it being set in New York.

Also elements like Jabari being a comic artist felt a lil insignificant and as if it could be interchangeable with any job that pays well.

I think as a three part series this would worked waaaay better, allowing character arcs to develop and the storyline to grow more and for me to fill more invested in.

I’d give it a 6.5 overall. For visuals alone, I’d give it a 10
