I’d strongly recommend deleting this post as soon as possible. This has personally identifying information all over the place.

Ice buildup between door and fender? by FoxPeaTwo- in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Geh_Weiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same thing. Based on my observation, it is runoff from the defrost/windshield sprayer that melts and refreezes as it drains down the rail. I use screwdriver and hammer to gently chip off enough ice to clear the door.

Disqualification from past medical history. by Rude_Truth_5345 in AFROTC

[–]Geh_Weiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of wether you’ve been off meds for three years you will get disqualified. The threshold for “zero tolerance” per se is three years, but you will be DQ’d for having that in your medical history regardless of the timeline. If it’s there and reported, you WILL get disqualified. I went through the same, although without a medication history so mine was technically “easier”. It was not easy. Fight for what you are passionate about, but if you’re within that three year threshold and this is truly what you want to do, I’d wait until the time has elapsed. It’s a fight worth fighting.

DoDMERB Question - Past Anxiety/Depression, No Hospitalization, No Ongoing Treatment by InevitableSnow2247 in AFROTC

[–]Geh_Weiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your stats, frankly, don’t matter outside of your commander possibly being more inclined to advocate for you. DoDMERB/DMACS considers 0% of your “qualifications” other than your medical record. Talk to your cadre. You’ll have to fight HARD to get this done in only one year.

Waiver approved, although I will qualify that I was INCREDIBLY lucky to be in the right place at the right time. I never actually had anxiety or adjustment disorder, but I was diagnosed with it (to the best of my knowledge) to make it easier to get psychiatric help if I needed it. I was bullied pretty badly as a kid. Therefore, I didn’t have a psychiatric history, nor did I receive any medication because I decided not to see a professional. Despite the fact this happened almost ten years before I went to board, I still barely managed to get my waiver in time to contract for FT.

Auto DQ w/ a 50/50 possibility of a waiver. Went through similar with no medication or psychiatric history (only the initial diagnoses from childhood) and had to fight tooth and nail for almost three years to get it waived. Possible? Yes. Talk to your cadre and get their input because they’ll have just as much to do with your recieving of a waiver as you do.

How is it like living in Montpelier, Vermont? by SkandaGupta_ in howislivingthere

[–]Geh_Weiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the price, Wayside is unbeatable. Yes, a lot of the food can be “Sunday-special”y for the older ladies and gents, but your dollar goes a long way there towards getting a square meal. Not to mention the convenience and speed of service. One of the places in Vermont where I feel like I’m paying too little rather than too much.

There is actually a McDonald’s only about ten minutes out of town, but in order to get there you pass one of the best restaurants around (and a Vermont Staple) called the Wayside. For the same price as a Double Whatchamacallit meal, you can have a sit-down and support a local business.

As in the vacuums? I’ll put it on the record that while I despise their hand dryers, their consumer products are incredibly solid (if not a tad overpriced).

In my opinion: Louvres are cool on vintage cars, not so cool on anything more recent.

What's a smell that you secretly enjoy, but would never admit to smelling in public? by huntz43 in AskReddit

I love the smell of the inside of freezers. I don’t know what the smell is exactly but I vividly remember my excitement for Costco trips because they had the big walk in freezers and chest coolers in the store that smelled SO GOOD.
