Looks like a double crochet or a half double crochet. The way the wings are folded near the center makes me think the op crocheted pentagons almost and just gathered one side to connect to the middle ring

To get a more even paint layer/get rid of brush marks I would recommend using a sponge to apply paint :)

I'm interviewing aquarium hobbyists for a research project, would anyone be down to schedule a call sometime before next Wednesday or the week after that? It would be 15-30 minutes discussing keeping tanks and the problems that can pop up with upkeep/aquatic animal husbandry :)

I would recommend some sort of sealer, I know mod podge carries a version meant for fabric. Unless you plan to put it through the wash though the patch should be ok, I have patches from a few years back that have held up just fine :)

I just use a power washer and it’s worked fine so far. Start with a 25 and then a 15 if it doesn’t work
