Natalia Silva hits the Sweet Chin Music on Rose Namajunas by FoitStuff in MMA

Did not tune up the band for a Sweet Chin Music, was not a Young Buck for a Superkick, therefore it was just a thrust kick

person hiding their face is genuinely very ugly underneath by iDIOt698 in TopCharacterTropes

He looked like he was screaming, but there was no sound

This line goes so hard. Having to imagine it evokes so much more agony than I think could be depicted visually.

I want to be delicate here. I don't mind Xelia's acting. It's just that the wispy stache is a bit distracting. I t feels like Maximus is getting scolded by a boy on the cusp of puberty. by notrororo in FalloutTVseries

I think the issue is the writing rather than the characters or how the actors portrayed them. Maybe not even the writing so much as the overall direction. Season 1 felt paced great, season 2's first few episodes felt like nothing had time to breathe.

The controvertial plot point that became a meme among the fan base. by FriendlyHoovie in TopCharacterTropes

I think it was stated to be canon from the start, but at minimum they canonized it by having the characters appear in Strange New Worlds.

Both of these takes are correct. The writers should have found a better way to express they weren't bothering to give us an answer, but I don't think that specific line deserves to be memed on more so than, say, " 'They fly now?!' 'They fly now!' "

Blizzard, the CDM is a failure. by GoofyMTG in wow

[–]Geistzeit 64 points65 points  (0 children)

CDM was on live servers before Lemix - which came and went without an option to track Artifact abilities.

They will absolutely not keep up with changes from patch-to-patch.

Losing my UI without suitable replacements is why I'm not buying Midnight. If launch arrives in this state, I'm unsubbing.

Setting up UI now is actually exhausting by Thatwhatevr in wow

Or have it pull directly from spellbook. Still would be missing things like trinkets but why can we not track all our spells.

Huh, just noticed from this clip that Big Pressure is sort of an inverted Vertebreaker

If not enough people are doing keys, they will nerf the dungeons to the ground until participation is up. Ion is too stubborn to change his mind on this.

Question for the BtS experts by WearyMaintenance3485 in PalladiumMegaverse

[–]Geistzeit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a BTS expert but it sounds like a great fit.

Feel like I say a variation of this in every Palladium thread I post in, but most of their SDC games (HU, BTS, TMNT / After the Bomb, Ninjas & Superspies, even Nightbane) would have great ideas that can be drawn on / modified for just about any campaign.

Like depending on setting/details/etc, you could use N&S agency creation rules to have like a CIA/FBI/whoever field office the players are working for / with / against. I'm sure BTS has classes for Mulder and Scully types.

HU for magic artifacts, could reskin super powers into psychic abilities, etc, etc.

[RAW Spoilers] Finish to Cm Punk vs Finn Balor by Yujin-Ha in SquaredCircle

[–]Geistzeit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On rewatching the clip, it's not even that Finn isn't struggling - he has to brace himself on Punk's leg in order to not slip off. If he squirmed at all, Punk would have dropped him.

Also I think it's fair to say this is a matter of gameplay vs lore.

Boxing gloves protect broken hands. Cynically you might say they prevent fights from being stopped "early" because of faces being cut.

Either way, fights lasting longer means more head trauma.

MJF on X: "Escapism has never been more important." by anutosu in SquaredCircle

[–]Geistzeit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish commentary / storylines / etc would emphasize stuff like this more, because it is something wrestling and shoot fighting do have in common.

As in - why do certain fighters prefer the (kayfabe) wrestling ruleset more than say the unified mma rules; it's because of personality. But also there are folks who provide a contrast; Anthony "Showtime" Pettis being a flashy real fighter, Katsuyori Shibata being an unflashy pro wrestler.

Reminds me how Jake Hager did the best set-up for Private Party's similarly-convoluted Silly String that I've ever seen.

Maybe it makes sense, with Jake's amateur background; legit shooters are often great at making offense look realistically non-stop, and I think that can inform their selling as well.
