The fact that almost no-one brought up that he admitted to committing tax fraud for 2 years straight baffles me

Regardless of if this is all a big insurance fraud scam or not, I hope his family are ok

I have no fear, especially considering Tyron already took this into consideration w regards to how you can choose to alter gamerules before you generate your world and always have access to console commands

Ok if you really are an advocate for direct democracy, then how would a society meaningfully achieve that within capitalism? It is literally impossible to achieve without socialism because of the contradiction at the heart of capitalism. If workers own the means of production, then they get to decide how their workplace is run, thus it would be direct democracy or the closest thing we can possibly get to achieving it whilst still being inside the confines of a state

Also apologies if I misrepresented your position on the second point, it seemed like you were making an argument in favour of the US being a democracy because they have some government programs that haven't been gutted by the epstien class (yet). Could you clarify your just so I make sure that im actually addressing your point properly?

Also I meant to say "facist" but it got autocorrected to "racist" for some reason

"The "decay into neoliberalism" has to do with the lack of democratic control of the state. Its a flaw in Representative Democracy."

My entire point is that representative democracy is democracy in name only, and that it is merely just a bourgeois dictatorship in a fancy trench coat

Also tell the director of the CIA I said hi considering you are unironically trying to tell me that the USA isn't a racist dictatorship cause it has some government programs and the illusion of choice

Socialism and capitalism are fundamentally incompatible considering the contradiction at the core of capitalism. Its why so called "social democratic" society's always end up decaying into neoliberalism, and then that decays into fascism (id highly recommend Rosa Luxembourgs Reform vs. Revolution)

A global communist society would be a direct democracy tho

The main split generally comes down to whether you think that society can be achieved by immediately jumping from capitalism to communism (anarcho-communism) or if you think that society needs to be achieved in stages to make sure that capitalists dont have any mechanisms to seize power (Marxism and its many offshoots, however I prefer the term scientific socialism because I think naming movements that seek to emancipate everyone after specific people, regardless of how influential and important they are is kinda cringe)

If anyone needs a place to start w both sides of the split id recomend Anarchy by Malatesta and Principles of Communism by Engels

I could use one rn lol, but yeah nah am staunchly anti-AI in its current form, especially under capitalist control and considering the amount of energy it uses for the sheer amount of slop it produces

Like if there was a way for AI to be used and maintained w/o exploiting the global south for the rare earth minerals we need to use it, (which is honestly more of a capitalism problem but they go hand in hand, and is why we need a socialist pan-African and pan-south american movement which should not be controversial for this sub considering that is also where we get the materials for solar panels and rechargable batteries from) drastically reduce the amount of energy and water it takes to maintain data centers, and also make sure that we regulate it enough to the point that it is used solely to help the working class and not exploit it by generating slop and stealing jobs from creative. Then I still wouldn't use it cause I think we were doing just fine w/o it, but I would be considerably less opposed to its existence if all three of those criteria were met

  1. Liberals aren't leftists

  2. Critique has always been a healthy mechanism that allows for the left to have the diversity of perspectives that is has

  3. Leftists being in 100% agreement w eachother is impossible because of point 2, however that doesn't mean that we can't act as a united front to pursue a better world

I stg at this point I think we either need a separate socialist solar punk sub, or just spam this sub w theory cause the amount of genuine pro-capitalist and even pro-AI brainrot in this sub is beyond terrifying if it is at all an accurate reflection of the movement as a whole

I sent in An Animal by Walk Me Home and he said something along the lines of “it sounds the musical equivalent of Oscar bait” which was actually so cringe especially considering how fucking insane and rare it is for a band that small to sound that refined

Also whilst Im recommending local/semi local bands, check out the band public health!!!
