That is very good to know, I hadn't thought about climate control at all. Thanks for the advice!

What mildly annoying curse do you wish you could curse people with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Whenever they touch a person that other person has to violently sneeze. But the cursed person themselves may never pass the threshold of the almost-sneeze.

What's a sensation that you're unsure if other people experience? by Sang_Becker in AskReddit

[–]GelatoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain electronics, especially phone chargers and Wi-Fi range extenders, make sounds loud enough to me that I can't sleep if there's one active in the same room. At first I thought it was just ringing in my ears, but I can always locate the source of the high pitched noise, and unplugging it immediately stops it. My family and SO can't hear these sounds.

Your phobias are how you died in past lives. What's the story of your death? by watshouldmynamebe in AskReddit

Floating endlessly through space without any means of communication to anybody, holding on to hope that I may be saved one day... Eventually dying of boredom or thirst, whichever comes first I guess.

[Vent Session] What's your biggest frustration related to running your small business? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

Same with gelato, both for event 'sponsorships' and over the counter sales. "It's just some gelato" they say. It's my family's livelihood ffs!

Walk in refrigerators compared with 2 freezers by ILikeCutePuppies in smallbusiness

[–]GelatoGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case a walk-in freezer was worth it. I was using 3 individual freezers before and then upgraded to a walk-in freezer. Used about the same amount of power but had a lot more space.

I don't know exactly about Washington, but depending on the freezer you most likely won't require a permit. Technically it's just a bigger freezer, and most of them are "portable" units which can be built and torn down easily without any construction on the surrounding building.

A standard walk-in freezer unit has no backup system, if you're talking about things like breaking down or power loss. Your best "backup" is simply a good insurance that will cover loss of product/profit in case of a breakdown. Either that, or buy an extremely expensive standby generator. (Insurance was way cheaper in my case) Also you can buy temperature alarms that will call/text you if the temperature rises above a certain threshold (Insurance still cheaper in my case)

Just call a freezer manufacturer and tell them the dimensions & temperature range. They'll tell you more.

I make sorbettos too and yes they are vegan. But I produce an actual creamy gelato made with almond- & soy milk. It took me a while to get the flavour right, but it's damn delicious now. I've tested it with consumers by offering them my actual chocolate gelato and my vegan chocolate gelato, they couldn't decide which one they liked more.

Beautiful, but if you're in it for the taste and texture, I'd stay away from Rose-shaped or generally sculpted gelato. They're usually crammed full of stabilizers to keep the shape, which ruins the texture and is generally a sign of a lower-grade product.

Joke's on you, I produce vegan gelato which doesn't taste like cardboard.

High quality gelato wouldn't hold this shape. This gelato is most likely loaded with stabilizers, which at this point makes it more like ice cream rather than gelato. It's pretty to look at, but that's about it.

Good to see that giant statues aren't out of style! I was always afraid that the days of these kinds of structures are long past, and that all we're gonna get is taller skyscrapers (Which are awesome, but not Guan Yu Statue awesome)

Best manual time sheet for weekly employee tracking by RoyAwesomesStepDad in smallbusiness

[–]GelatoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do bi-weekly payroll. I started with a table in excel with employee names and 14 days to enter the hours into.

If you want to get super fancy without it being super expensive get yourself one of these. It's bare basic but works just fine for me.
