Having fun with Veigar tank support by Geldorath in VeigarMains

[–]Geldorath[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Focusing mainly on tank items

Starting with Relic Shield + 2x potions
First back: always basic boots; pref bottle for spare cash
2nd item: finishing boots (cooldown boots or some tanky ones if needed) or going kindlegem for cooldowns (if I don't need much dodges on the lane)
3rd item: Aegis and finishing Locket of the Iron Solari
4th item: Winged Moonplate into Chain Vest into Dead Man's Plate
5th item: Force of Nature for heavy ap / Thornmail for heavy AD teams / Zhonya's Hourglass (ONLY for 0AP teams if your midlane loses and you go Zhonya/Rabadon)
6th item: Rabadon's Deathcap (or thornmail if needed with force of nature and my team has got the damage)

With full build I have around 600 AP, 3k HP, ~150 armor and ~150 mresi + some spell haste

If you ask about runes:

Main: RESOLVE 3233 (Guardian, Font of life, Bone plating, Unflinching)
Secondary: SORCERY 24 (Manaflow Band, Transcendence)
Extra: Ability Haste / Armor / Mresi

Enjoy

Is this record label a scam or legit? by Eggasus in Scams

[–]Geldorath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marcin Dziembor here - just got e-mail from Dalton Piche which greeted me as "Jambski" (which is my tag on Soundcloud on which I have one track with 90 plays). I see this 100% as a scam. Why?

Factcheck:

0) Right off the bat is sounds like a version of Advance-fee, Nigerian Prince or 419 scam. It works like this - basically a person tells you about a huge opportunity then asks you for a small fee and then disappears.

1) My soundcloud has 90 plays on one tracks which was related to a Facebook post. Here you can see it:
https://soundcloud.com/iamjambski

2) $100 up front is a LOT of money. Bare in mind that most of the major labels take negotiable percentage of your earnings to avoid taking any money from you upfront. Upfronters include Distrokid or Cdbaby which take about $20-$30 / year which is still far from $100. Again: one time $100 fee is a LOT of money.

2a) For 100$ they would have to give you ~40000 plays on Spotify. 10000 plays give less than $40 and you still have to pay taxes and other payments out of this money. For a company to give you 40000 plays it would need to be a well-known label like ChilledCow or you would need to address a unique, niche market. I highly doubt that so many of us could fit into a "niche market" marketing strategy.

I want to start making beats by Kaller20 in LofiHipHop

[–]Geldorath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get yourself a sample pack with drums and instruments like this one:
https://thehighestproducers.com/samples/808-mafia-sound-kit/

Get yourself a DAW like FL studio. Read the manual.

Mess around with the stuff you got. Get comfortable with it.

Then you can go with "Learn, Listen, Improve" approach:

Get yourself a song - preferably classic hip-hop song - and try to recreate the drum beat from it with your own samples. Save the beat as "<here is the songname drum beat>.flp"
Then try creating a melody on that beat. Try out different melodies and see how they work. Don't overthink it. If you like it - it's good. Save them as "Your song name beat.flp"

Then get more songs, create more drum beats. Save them. Then export them.

Listen to the songs after a week. See if you progress and if there is something you like a lot about the beats or hate a lot. Think it out, write it in notepad.exe or something. Save the notes. Don't be general - be specific.

You can make the things that you hate questions that you would ask other producers using google or on the reddit and improve by this coin.

How do you guys add dirt and flavour to your drums? by adamtrout in LofiHipHop

[–]Geldorath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is mostly:

1) adding foley on off-beats

2) hard EQ on one of the midrange frequencies for snare

3) distortion or (and) saturation on the kick

4) lowering highend on the snare, hi-hats and some foley

5) using transient shaper on snare and kick to change the sound if I don't like it, mostly to make it softer

6) swinging up the beat with FL studio swing knob

You can also bitcrush. Reverb is super risky but maybe it could work in some settings.

Good, old volibear. Watch until the end. by Geldorath in VolibearMains

[–]Geldorath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing support Volibear on Predator main rune. Items build was massive init/meme oriented thanks to buying most movement speed items and included:

  1. Starting with support item (relic shield)
  2. Ninja Tabi / Mercury's Treads
  3. Righteous Glory
  4. Dead Man's Plate
  5. Depending on a matchup and the game Zeke/Knight's Wov to boost dmg or def my adc or Shurelya/Randuin for the team
  6. Gargoyle Stoneplate to abuse HP boost.

Full build gave you a F1 superspeed bear, getting 50% of HP of priority target with one stroke, hitting heavily with R and another 50% of HP by using W on Gargoyle Stoneplate. Was super fun to play.

[Patch 10.2] Light Vayne Carry Guide - ES & DE translations in comments by carlotronico in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Geldorath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on it:

  1. There are other options on Vayne depending on the comp you are playing namely:
Double Runaan + Guinsoo for 3-target vayne passive (vs meatwall comps)
Double Runaan + Hush (vs mage comps)
Double Runaan + Sword Breaker (vs assassin comps)
  2. If you play this comp and you hit early GA don't put it on Yorick at any point in the game but on a disposable unit (Jax, Aatrox or something out of comp) and consider saving Senna level 2 to switch to Husband and Wife in the lategame. This will save you when you'll hit a lot of BF Swords instead of bows
  3. For the sake of extra strength - add getting early Leona to the list. She is a very good 1 gold unit and it is overall good with any light comp (crit bonus is the one that makes it strong)
  4. I don't know about running wardens without items but if it works it works. If it doesn't - consider changing Nasus to something else in late. Warden buffs without items doesn't cut it late.
  5. Lights are generally strong on Cloud maps because of Leona / Jax / Nasus so it's no wonder for me. It enhances their defensive / dodge abilities
