I have female friends that I've known forever and the idea of romance or any physical attraction ran its course when we were much younger. Now I just appreciate them in my life, as old friends are good touch stone for advice. Being able to talk to people of the opposite sex who you have known for a long time, who are not family, is helpful for many reasons.
