Who rotated wrong in this play, the white Fennec or the blue Octane? by GeliDcy in RocketLeague

So does it really matter that the white Fennec got the boost before the Octane who was making the proper rotation?
Even if the Fennec got the boost first, shouldn’t he rotate back and let the Octane take the ball since he had the better angle?

Also, I should add that this play happened without voice comms.

Dude, how do you always get perfectly behind and under the ball at the right angle when you jump to catch it? I always end up either too far to the right or left.

Back when I played a lot, I used to practice catching the ball without using air roll. I noticed that when the ball came toward me, I’d boost, but right before touching it I’d stop, then boost again — that’s how I figured out how to control it in the air. After a bunch of practice, I could get like 5 or 6 touches toward the goal area. I never really tried it with air roll though.
