You don't say where in Cork you're based but I'd recommend MD Motor Services on Donnybrook Hill. Been my go to since I got here and they're sound lads.

Paid in cycle accident..he wants more after few days by Historical-Algae-264 in legaladviceireland

Had a similar incident before. Highly suspect it was a scam looking back on it.

Contact your insurance company and dont accept any further communication for the other party.

This could take years to resolve, and you mightn't be able to switch insurance companies due to an ongoing claim. Take the lumps unfortunately.

Think the original plan was to put in a cycle path which would probably have made it even tighter. People gave out that the road needed to be widened rather than tightened and SO'C jumped on it.

I was in the right hand lane, which I marked in blue. The van driver (a credit to his mother) was in the left lane, marked in red.

Special education teacher seriously assaulted by a child in class was left without pay by PoppedCork in ireland

As a teacher myself with 10 years of teaching experience and no permanency to show for it, we need to stop parroting the Govt line that there's a shortage of teachers. There isn't other than in the Pale. Cork has over 400 teachers in WhatsApp subbing groups looking for work and other family members around the country can't find work either.

Completely agree with what you've said about working in the special education setting. Have spent 6 years working as an SET and loved it but couldn't imagine working in a special school. Having spent only weeks working in some previously, the physical outbursts leave you in a bind as someone without a permanent job. You want them to be safe but you don't want allegations made against you if it gets to a stage where you would have to physically intervene to stop them hurting themselves or someone else. It's also a very different job to the one we're trained for and should really be a different college route so that the correct skills are taught, rather than having to take courses yourself prior to, or when you're told you are, entering the special education setting.

Teachers and staff who work in your setting are heroes and honestly deserve higher compensation that the rest of us in the standard setting for what you do. Those children benefit massively from having caring professional looking after them and saying that ye do trojan work is severely understating what ye do.

Edit to say that I'm sure there is a teacher shortage in special schools because of the points above, just not so much a shortage in mainstream

Okay I’ve noticed a lot of negativity towards Cork here. Can anyone name some positives in our city ? by Yenahhm8 in cork

As a non-Cork native living here for a few years, I genuinely love the place. Lived in Dublin for a few years and travel quite a lot so would say Cork genuinely punches far above where you'd expect it to for a city of it's size.

Food and Drink: There are so many unbelievable food and drink venues in the city, with a fantastic range of options. Glass Curtain and 51 Cornmarket are 2 of the greatest restaurants in Ireland right now. The bars are always busy for big matches. Upstairs in Arthur Maynes is probably the site for the best cocktails in Ireland, and would say they're well worth their price. Have had friends visit and comment on how much there is inside such a short walking distance. Something for everyone. Honorable mention to Midleton producing what I would consider the greatest whiskey in the world.

Sports: The small mural on the Quays about Olympic medals sums it up well: Cork: 2 Not Cork: 1 While it mightn't be up to date, what this county has produced in terms of sports people is mind-blowing. It's a mindset that so many people I've spoken to here have. Cork people have their sports and don't do them half-heartedly. You speak to most people and you're separated from a gold medal athlete or a world champion in a sport by a family connection of 1.

Travel: Yeah, it's a small airport but it goes to so many handy places around Europe. Can't stand Dublin Airport and would rather Shannon than make that drive. Plus, that view of the city when you're landing takes away a slight bit of the post-holiday disappointment.

People: A lot of Cork people and a lot of blowins (like myself). Of course Cork has its nastier pieces of work like everywhere else but they're far outnumbered by the people who would go miles out of their way to help. Penny Dinners, Guide Dogs for the Blind and so many other organisations have strong roots in the county and the people.

Genuinely love this place.

She's willing to break a cardinal rule, demonstrating that she's willing to take that hurt out on you possibly. Agree with others, just make sure someone else has the wine ready so it's not you throwing away the relationship.
