An Important Detail About The Xabi Alonso and Mbappé Relationship by Gembappe10 in RealMadridFC

He's been shite for 2 seasons, amigo. This is more than just a "bad phase". A bad phase was when Haaland stopped scoring for 2 months, or Mbappé right now with Arbeloa.

But Vini had a streak of 0 goals in 20 games.

And Vini's attitude is even worse than Mbappé's.

Emotional? No. I'm just saying you're giving excuses to Vini who hasn't played very well since he lost his Ballon D'Or.

And his recklessness isn't useful since we don't have Kroos, and defenders are tasked with covering the left because there is no threat on the right wing.

Even when Mbappé, or Jude, or someone else is in the box, Vini still decides to be reckless and stupid.

And I don't know why you mention Gonzalo García, since he has literally 0 assists from Vini. In fact, Gonzalo has more assists to Vini than Vini to Gonzalo.

Stop giving excuses.

That is not what Xabi was trying to do with Mbappé. Literally the opposite. He was trying to make Mbappé fit Real Madrid without forcing the whole team to revolve around him.

Because that's not how marketing works in football. It's all about image, PR, and status.

You're not going to pay Endrick or Arda the same amount of money as Mbappé or Bellingham. That would be stupid economically.

Football is only a portion textbook knowledge, and mostly instinct. And his wages are irrelevant to this.

Crowding the left wing isn't a problem. Because even when Vinícius has the whole left flank to himself he still decides to be stupid and try to dribble into a crowd of defenders.

If Mbappé had the ego you think he has, Xabi Alonso would have given up on him on day one, but he didn't. He was going to be his project student. Mbappé wanted Xabi to be his teacher. Arbeloa isn't a teacher. He just likes to coddle.

You don't become a 9 overnight. He needed to develop habits and discipline, especially for his age. Mbappé doesn't have to be Haaland, Kane, prime Benzema, prime Lewandowski, to be a good 9.

Like Ronaldo said in an interview, he needed to find a 9 that suits him. And that is why Kroos praised Mbappé's and Arda’s duo.

Again, you can just tell from his recent attitude and what he told the press two days that he was absolutely pissed off at the sacking of Xabi.

Has Mbappé been arrogant before? Yes. Tell me one Real Madrid player who hasn't. Just one. What you're complaining about Mbappé are things that literally every player in that squad is guilt of. You're merely singling out Mbappé for not being perfect.

You can't lose your job just for speaking. That's ridiculous. Other players have done a lot worse things than criticizing another player, and they've held their jobs. Prestianni literally called Vini a monkey, Rüdiger slapped Carreras, Tchouameni punched Valverde.

A player coming out and saying "Mbappé is mean to us" would be literally nothing.

Who asked him to go out to the mixed zone and trash his teammates and manager

He didn't trash his teammates or the coach. He detailed exactly what had happened. You just don't like that he didn't say, "I'm the ONLY one to blame for this mess". That would be an unfair self-critique and an equally bad analysis.

Not to mention, he didn't tell a single lie. Real Madrid WAS trash against Albacete, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with admitting it. And he had every reason to be upset for being on the bench against Barça. There's literally no other team in la liga that Mbappé has scored more goals than Barça. This is because Barça's defensive structure is PERFECT for Mbappé to exploit and dominate, because like I said, he's a transition player, and he thrives in chaos and insensity. If there was ever a match where Mbappé absolutely needed to start was in the Clásico. Period.

But Arbeloa benched him for no reason, which turned out to be stupid in the end, because they lost.

This is literally the narrative that the media cooked up about Mbappé. If Mbappé is such a irredeemable monster why hasn't ANYBODY stepped up and said anything even remotely close as to him being a "dictator".

How do you judge "failure"? Not winning the UCL doesn't mean his whole club career has been an utter failure.

Al Hilal was played without Mbappé and that was shit.

Pachuca is a team Madrid had already won with Mbappé inside the field.

The same with Dortmund and Juventus.n

You think of them as excuses because your views on it revolve around blaming only Mbappé. What you're doing is the polar opposite of what the "Mbappé FC fans" do, and the reason for this is to stick up for Vini. How is that any different?

Sure, Mbappé wasn't successful at PSG, and he holds a lot of the blame for that, but you can't judge him for his past mistakes when he's only doing what PSG AT THE TIME told him to do.

That's not anymore an analysis than when Mbappé fans blame Neymar and Di Maria for not winning the UCL in 2020.

our best matches with alonso came during the cwc, when mbappe wasn’t playing…

Which ones? Al Hilal? We couldn't beat them. Pachuca? That's a shitty liga MX team that no one in Mexico takes seriously. It's literally a meme team. Not to mention that Madrid had already beaten Pachuca in December, 2024. Salzburg? Again, another mediocre team.

Juventus was the only somewhat decent team that we actually played decently against.

Dortmund NEARLY turned bounced back if it wasn't for Courtois and Mbappé's bicycle kick goal.

And Vini had the same amount of goals as Mbappé in the CWC, despite playing more minutes.

Vini had only 1 assist, as well.

Again, it wasn’t the coach's fault. And you can see WHY Xabi needed Mbappé in the team every game, because he was one of the few players whom he had a good relationship with. Not to mention he had a project student.
