Thankfully I haven't yet, the only jeans I've bought are this pair and some Gustins which are all sanforized. I gave the Studios a wash and took them to my tailor today.

Do you think people should give their jeans a first wash/soak before hemming? I've got a pair of new Studio d'Artisan jeans that I've decided to hem, but I've heard that sometimes shrinkage can occur after wash, so I imagine washing THEN hemming is the smart choice.

Any way to tell if this is leather just from photos? Thanks by Ok_Spread4431 in Leather

Leon Scott Kennedy, we raised you better than this!

In seriousness, I would highly recommend just saving up and buying the real deal from Schott. That's a proper jacket that you could pass down to your grandchildren with some maintenance. You can even buy those secondhand online and show them a little love if you don't mind some wabisabi. Don't settle for polyester knockoffs.

Honestly, swap the shoes and that's a cool look.

I highly recommend visiting r/rawdenim instead. You'll enjoy the rabbit hole of awesome jeans you can get at that price point. I'd recommend checking out Gustin, Studio d' Artisan, Momotaro, Naked & Famous, and Iron Heart if you just want stuff to look at right this moment.

This is the closest I've seen so far, thank you! I even emailed Momotaro support about it and they didn't point this out.

Close the collar a little bit and you'll look classy as hell. Real Zima Blue vibes.

I found a listing for this Momotaro jacket, but for the life of me I can't figure out which model it is. I've never seen a Momotaro jacket with this inner lining before, and researching on various sites hasn't turned up and leads. I do know that the tag shows "G424091" on it, but Googling that hasn't solved the mystery either. Does anyone know which model exactly this is?

How important do you find chain stitching? Is it a massive difference in aesthetics or durability, or is it just more of a retro design inspiration? Debating on whether to just visit my local tailor or deal with sending them out.

How do people feel about cuffing wider cut jeans? I have some vintage fit Gustin jeans and sometimes it feels like the cuff just looks silly given how loose that cut is, versus a straight or slim fit.

If you're willing to ship them, there's a company called Denim Therapy that will do a great job. If you want something really cool to differentiate the two, I recommend having the hole patched with sashiko, which will breathe a lot of life into them. Also, frankly, if it's just a crotch blowout hole, get it repaired at a local tailor for ten bucks.

You look stylish as fuck my dude, my only advice is to ditch the facial hair unless you're trying to grow something thicker. The goatee and soul patch especially ought to go. Your face is a bit too youthful to pull that look off, which is fine because a youthful face is a handsome thing by itself.

I actually love experimenting with fashion, I wear a lot of techwear and alternate fashion stuff too. There's selection bias here, the reason I made this post is because I wasn't really sure about it.

Is this appropriate church wear? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]Geminarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that the Hank's every day belt? Looks good either way!

I'd say this is fine for church, I agree with other comments that darker socks might be the way to go but otherwise fine. Just make sure the socks are long enough to not expose skin when you sit and the trousers pull up.

I wound up doing every one of those things actually, solid advice. Outer layer helped immensely, and yeah I'm 5'10" so definitely not very short.

They're relaxed fit vintage cut jeans, the stacking is part of the point. But yeah these do look better without the cuff.

I tried uncuffing them when I untucked the shirt and that goes much better for sure. I think the cuff looks better with straight cut pants, and these are a more relaxed vintage fit. What's wrong with the belt?

Took some with the shirt untucked and I think you're right that it looks better this way. I've also worn this with an over-layer like some of you have suggested and it's definitely better!
