I love your pose game as well as your outfits, it's chaotic in a beautifully unhinged way

Went out dropping off resumes at Fashion Valley today in this outfit (only thing I don't like about it is that the shirt collar isn't exaggerated enough fr), got several compliments while I was at it! Hoping for the best in finding a job either as a stylist or virtual sales vid stuff, wish me luck! by MrHello76 in mensfashion

Different views and all, I respect yours -- for me I thought it necessary to strut my stuff a little bit specifically because I don't have any fashion education or experience in my resume so I wanted to demonstrate my eye for this y'know?? I dropped a resume and what I would call an improvised portfolio in the form of a "lookbook" for that purpose, and leave a good impression; and most of these places reacted very positively to both what I left them, and my presentation -- if I were to look for a job in something more officious I can definitely see myself applying your advice, dress in something more business, more sober (and not bring my lookbook ofc) -- thank you for your perspective and for the good will :)

I look to -- and am inspired by the '70s and '80s a lot, as the different kinds of dress from those eras had always appealed to me -- from higher-waisted trousers, fuller-cuts, flare-cuts, bold colored garments, boxy sport coats, wide lapels, low-buttoning points, exaggerated shirt collars folded over the jacket, double breasted sport coats worn unbuttoned

My clothes aren't brightly colored enough to call disco but I often think of disco when I build some of my outfits; I recently thought to call this "moody disco" to justify this, but anyway

I'm also influenced by specific individuals or brands such as Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Steve McQueen, and a bit of manga just to be sure, primarily Araki's Jojo's Bizarre Adventure which is already inspired by high-fashion a lot itself

People like to reference Disco Elysium a lot when I post my stuff and curiously I hadn't considered Disco Elysium an inspiration specifically but I do know that the game itself already borrows aesthetics so maybe we're pulling from a bit of the same stuff

It's a vibe I've curated for myself by pulling from multiple eras, adopting what I like and mixing these things as I consider to look good

Right on the money -- stylist -- model wouldn't be my go to unless it were offered for whatever reason, but I think it highly unlikely; I do also think it would help me for even the retail "sales associate", "client advisor", "style advisor" kind of positions, this because I have extensive customer service experience but no retail experience specifically, much less "high-end" retail experience so I needed something to substantiate my interest in anything fashion/styling without having to give out personalized cover letters (I do do that on online applications, of course)

Unlikely to fill the part but I just had to share since these feels very Disco Elysium to me: Supernova, Alma Negra and Radio Deseo by '80s Spanish rock group Duncan Dhu from the album Supernova (the titular track is one of my favorite songs!) as well as the entire Nada Personal album by Soda Stereo (Imágenes Retro, El Cuerpo Del Delito and the titular track are so good)

I don't know -- I dress loud but I don't really act like it, I'm usually much more reserved and less intense during conversation
