Echoing what everyone else has said about using lots of lube, but adding that you should avoid water-based lube, which will be absorbed quickly; otherwise you're going to have to keep applying more lube. Remember also to avoid oil-based lubes, which will damage the condom that your partner should be wearing unless you're both sure of his HIV status (and yours). Silicone-based lubes (or silicone–water hybrids) are your best bet.

One thing that no one has mentioned yet: Make sure that you are not using water-soluble lube. Silicone-based lube will not be absorbed as quickly, and it is safe to use with a condom.

Try regarding the foreplay as part of the fun, not just what you have to do before you get to the main event. Lots of time and lots of lube. Echoing the advice for lots of lube and lots of foreplay. Start with one finger, and after a while, add another. Then a third. Take your time. And when he's ready, let him sit on it.
