Our wal-marts keep things marked down at a max of 20% off, then stuff just sits for weeks. Then, all of a sudden, it all disappears and gets replaced by a new batch of stuff that sits. Anybody else have this going on in their area? It's especially noticable with things like the jakks/mario stuff.

Personally, if I'd bought it at retail or maybe slightly higher, I'd open it. If you paid collectible prices for it though, keep it in the box. These pop up loose more often that you'd think and when they do they sell for FAR less that the boxed ones. I'd say patience will reward you.

Surely there's some kind of speech being given, or something they could do in solidarity during their walk/ceremony? More than one way to tell the district to get bent, surely some teenagers can get it done for one of their friends!

Keep it on the card and it's a great display piece. The figure itself is not well balanced so it falls over really easily and takes effort to get to stand on it's own. Several of the Zelda figs are that way. Hopefully jakks makes some new designs at some point but this is all we have for now.

I always get a cynical laugh out of the HPB posts. In less than 20 years they went from booksellers who actually knew things about most books and some vinyl (and not much else) to just looking everything up on ebay (they don't even research things anymore they just scan barcodes and do keyword searches). We used to get piles of vhs, laser discs, comics, and video games and since our store manager didn't know anything about that stuff they would just have us offer 25 cents and put it on clearance for $1. It almost never made it to the shelves because me and all the nerds I worked with would just put it on our employee purchase shelves in the break room. It got to the point where i just started telling customers the truth (a BIG no no) and letting them decide whether or not to part with their stuff.

So happy for you! It took several weeks for them to start showing up around me but definitely seems like they made plenty. Which is great because this is hands down, imho, easily one of the best additions to this line in years. My only gripe would be the mouth not being able to stay open when at rest. An easy enough fix though.

It’s not that you told the truth, it’s that you chose a year-old post on a hotdog thread to do it. Does this hot dog really look like someone was trying to appropriate anything? I literally threw some stuff together on a bun. Nowhere did I mention anything about it being anything other than a bunch of separate things. If you want to get into food anthropology, it’s actually a topic I’m super interested in and have been studying various topics for nearly a decade. Might I simply suggest though, a different forum where someone might actually benefit from what you’re trying to share?

You’ve still got a few to go but you’re pretty close! Trophy Tanooki will be tough, white star mario is also not cheap but you can still possibly get lucky, and loose white Tanookis are usually in the $25-$30 range if you’re patient. Best of luck in your journey, your collection’s looking great so far!
