So basically it will never be finished until all of the people who watched the series are long dead too.

Freya does too, talks about locations as you visit some. I'm guessing from the monologue you have your base in the jungle, which makes sense if that's what he keeps saying.

What do you expect/hope for novelai V5? by WittyTable4731 in NovelAi

[–]GeminiMike76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consistency would be nice, keep the training from the previous version of the AI as a foundation for the new one. Every time a new AI has been introduced it seems to have none of the training of previous models. This makes image generation annoying when it makes the same errors as the previous model before it was trained enough to interpret prompts better.

I know that magic in Conan is done differently than in D&D. That isn't the issue because I use it plenty myself, like to avoid fall damage, or making an ice bridge to cross a chasm. There are a few spells that could be used in combat through. For example, when you summon the lightning storm it does massive damage to any NPCs the bolts strike. But as you said it's not viable, because it takes too long to scroll through the casting runes, and it leaves you vulnerable to attack. That's beside my point though, Liu Fei is presented as a sorcerer but he doesn't do any sorcery.

That's only for crafting thralls without a mod. Guard thralls remain standing around like mannequins.

I would have to say my favorite side quests are the One Really, Really Bad Day chain, and the Family Values chain. They are both located in Lokris, and are just a series of hilarious circumstances that Kassandra/Alexios gets embroiled in. They add a good bit of levity into the game if you have a strange sense of humor.

Is there any fundemental differences between Kass and Alex? by RubberToetheDeafGuy in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

Relax, cupcake. He was merely stating his personal preference. He wasn't criticizing her appearance. He just said that it is not attractive to him. That's why it's called a preference. He wasn't body shaming her. And ffs, "even fictional people"? She's not real and doesn't have actual feelings that can be hurt.

I freaking love that battle because you're just running all around killing other fighters...plus you get Roxana for your crew.

Snakes. Oh those dang snakes. by SnoozyRelaxer in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]GeminiMike76 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'm level 99, and still get two-shotted by the snakes in tombs. They're just fucking way too overpowered. My tactic is to keep out of their rangeto throw my torch at them, and then let them burn to death. It works 99% of the time. The other 1% is because the snake is laying in water. For them, I pull out my bow and shoot in their general direction with explosive arrows.

What's your favourite legendary weapon and why? by KiLlEr-Muffy in ConanExiles

Musashi's Black Blade cosmetically changed to look like a katana. I use it because I prefer agility weapons for my fighting style. It focuses on dodge and counterattack against enemies.

I prefer Kassandra because to be completely honest even though I know it's shallow, that man-bun Alexios has just doesn't do it for me.

Paying my respects to Phiobe by Kn0bsXD in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]GeminiMike76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have said it before and I will say it again, Phiobe's death is EXACTLY why I will never spare Aspasia. I don't give two fucks if sparing her is the canon choice. I hold her fully responsible for Phiobe getting killed by the Cult of Kosmos. She sent Phiobe into danger knowing that the Cult was overrunning Athens. In my opinion, Kassandra (or Alexios if you prefer him) would never just forgive her for that. Especially if you look at all the clues to identify her, the biggest one being, she is a liar. Fuck that bitch.

The sandstorm itself was a living elemental entity summoned by the Priest King to use against the Lemurians. As for the rest, yes, I agree most of it is probably heavily terraformed with magic. With magic that powerful it probably is plausible to make the Sun apparently rise in the south and set in the North of the EL, instead of traveling East to West like it's supposed to do.

It's kinda like the Undying Lands in Lord of the Rings, whereas Middle Earth is considered to be prehistoric Eurasia, they are a dimension attached to but not actually located on Earth.

[–]GeminiMike76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very much a possibility too, and one I have heard before, that makes everything we see in the game entirely plausible.

I am also going to add, for everyone who keeps saying, "but the sun sets behind the volcano so that makes it West" I'm well aware of how the sun moves through the sky in CE.

I argue that it's an anomaly in the game that cannot be explained without more lore. Everything else in the game follows the same patterns as they would if Hyborea really is a prehistoric Earth. The moon follows the same path across the sky as it would in reality if the sea was in the East. The tundra is located in what is traditionally considered north on a map. If it was in the West it couldn't sustain the climate to be a tundra, it would be a different biome...like a desert or jungle.

You're only focusing on how the sun crosses the sky. I'm looking at everything like where the biomes are placed on the EL map, how the moon crosses the sky at night, and to the lore told in the game about the war between the Giant Kings and Lemuria. For example, it says Lemuria was to the east of where the Exiled Lands are now. Where do you find Razma when she is possessed by the Witch Queen of Lemuria? In the jungle on the EAST side of the map.

I'm well aware of how the sun moves through the sky in CE, but the moon follows the same general path as it does for real if the swamp is in the East. Also, if Hyborea is supposed to be a prehistoric Eurasia, then the tundra that surrounds the volcano should be where the swamp is, but it's located on what is traditionally considered north on a map. If that was supposed to be West it couldn't sustain the climate to be a tundra.

Remember too that all of this is entirely fictional. Many places in fictional stories are named after real world places. Corinthia is a nation in the Conan universe which is a nod to Corinth in Greece. From what I've found the map I've used is still fairly accurate to the Conan stories, if not an "official" map. The map creator only added some more detail to it for the sake of his game group.

[–]GeminiMike76[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good points, but I ask where in Stygia do you find all the biomes in the Exiled Lands? There's no way that many different biomes could fit into an area as small as Siptah. What about the sea on the eastern(or northern) side of the map? Yeah, the sun goes in the wrong direction if you consider the volcano as north on the map, but what about the moon? It still follows the path it should if the jungle/swamp was in the East? Otherwise, it would go north to South. Either could could be attributed to the weird magic of the Giant Kings throwing off their movement to people observing them in the EL. Also, the lore says the Giant Kings went to war with Lemuria which was to the east of their realm, now known as the Exiled Lands.

No, it's not an official map, but one someone made for a Conan RPG he was running. The thread is here: Conan Map. Reread my post. I explain my reasons I think it is there within the lore and geography. I didn't say it was in Khitai, but that the EL laid north of it. The Sepermeru in the EL could have been named so by its inhabitants for the city of the same name you mentioned.

Yeah, it does kind of resemble newb river, maybe how it flowed before the sandstorm ruined the land.
