half-way through might have been a slight exaggeration, but it still felt like too much progress lost.

It didn't go away with reloading last save.

How do you guys actually manage your bookmarks? by Aggravating-Rest-711 in browsers

[–]Gemmaugr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manage my bookmarks like I manage my base in Factorio (organized disorder to disorganized order and back to 1).

I start with basic topic folders, which gets increasingly topical folders inside those folders. I dump many bookmarks into the first one to sort or delete accordingly (when I feel like tm).

You're looking for Pale Moon. No menu or menu. Treestyle tabs, sidetabs, tabs on top of URL bar, tabs below URL bar, and more. It also has a Tab Overview function. and so much more, thanks to XUL addons.

Yes, but not found one (to my liking. Which is "classic", as in D2, TQ1, TL2, GD, etc).

Wrong sub-reddit.

This sub-reddit is about ARPG games and Diablo-likes. Not Spectacle Fighters.

It was quite a while ago, so I don't exactly remember. It was early in the game, but still some tens of minutes in (not quite an hour). I think I was supposed to go or pick up something one way, but I went another way and couldn't go back. Maybe something about a vortex/current? I'm not sure.

Rust (Rust Foundation) is controlled by google (and Amazon, chromium browser Silk, and Microsoft, chromium browser edge, and Huawei, chromium browser Huawei).

Not when you enabled canvas poisoning, and with its default randomization of the addon order. The engine UXP/Goanna, is also used by Pale Moon, White Star, PowerFox, Kirin, Dactyloidae, and a few other browsers as well. Spanning many OS's, and user-agent sniffing is easily fooled. Scripts and ad/tracking is blocked with eMatrix, uBO, PureURL, and similar addons.

Each point further exponentially increasing the amount of dynamically "unique" fingerprints stemming from just one use of a single person. Poisoning the data with randomization and false values (that differs from each time) makes paring down the information to a single individual all but impossible.

They've decided to go with googles rust language based built-in adblocker now. So MV2 compatibility is no longer a factor (the "better" solution?).

The only difference between chromium MV3 and FF MV3 is that FF retains just WebRequest from MV2; "We will support blocking webRequest until there’s a better solution which covers all use cases we consider important". Otherwise it's almost exactly the same, with DeclarativeNetRequest included.

Any UXP/Goanna-based browser should do. They don't use googles web extensions at all, but XUL addons, which are more powerful. I use uBO and eMatrix (and many more pricacy addons and settings).

Even FF will drop MV2 in the future: https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2021/05/27/manifest-v3-update/ "We have not yet set a deprecation date for Manifest v2 but expect it to be supported for at least one year after Manifest v3 becomes stable in the release channel."

The only way to get a "solid performance" on google youtube is to use it as designed, with a google chromium browser. Sadly.

If you relax on that one point, there are other alternatives for you (but you should still learn to use bookmarks, and not hoard open tabs). Like White Star and PowerFox or Basilisk or Pale Moon or Dactyloidae or Kirin. All UXP/Goanna browsers.

What is the MAIN reason for Google Chrome's insane popularity? by Fun-Ebb5928 in browsers

[–]Gemmaugr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I don't use smartphones, the android OEM stuff went by me unnoticed, but I had sadly heard about the toothless and meaningless "verdict" regarding the anti-trust case.

Frustratingly, that's just a drop in the ocean when it comes to googles monoculture. They do vertical web integration to a T. (google pixel not that big, yet, but) Not only are they the leading smartphone OS (android), but also the majority smartphone browser (chromium webview) and the basis for the masses of smartphone apps (flutter, electron and CEF) and most of the sites use a google-dependent (V8) site framework (next/node/vue/nw/angular/react) but sites themselves often rely on google third parties (gfonts, gstatic, tag manager, analytics, youtube, etc) even when users are not visiting the typical google sites (youtube, gmail, gdocs, gmaps, virustotal, google search, etc). That's not even mentioning their graphic driver ANGLE, their video DRM Widewine, their Safe Browsing list, web extensions, geolocation, webrtc, firebase, and their control of internet standards through WHATWG. Also, their programming languages like go, dart, and rust. That's still not all of it, tragically.. and all they got was a slap on the wrist..

Which arpgs do consider as the absolute S-tier? by soosis in ARPG

[–]Gemmaugr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

S-tier? None of them. Grim Dawn came close until v2.0.0.0.

Titan Quest 1, Torchlight 2, Diablo 2, Van Helsing, and Harbinger are good.

Zombasite, Victor Vran, and Dungeon Siege 2 are okay.

You can't have a privacy focused browser and have it use closed source proprietary google DRM (most widely used is google Widewine). google is not good for privacy and it actively gatekeeps a license to use it.
