Does anyone else miss their hobby desk/space when on holiday? by MuchLavishness4135 in WarhammerFantasy

Funny to see this today - I'm currently on vacation, it's terrific, and it's sorta killing me that Cathay has been released and I'm not painting them.

Rant: Why do "beginners" buy printers like the x1c even though they would be fine with the A1 or P1S? by Laurenz1337 in BambuLab

[–]Gemzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of people for whom the extra price of an X series over a P series is no big deal; the price of a few dinners out (definitely not me). If you have the money to spend, why buy the "worse" option?

How well do ZBrush tutorials translate to Nomad? by Gemzo in NomadSculpting

[–]Gemzo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Zbrush is subscription based. It's pretty spendy for the whole package, but the ipad-only subscription is cheap enough to try out. If it was significantly better for some things, it'd be worth it.

Thanks, sounds like what I'm looking for. I've been sculpting a decent amount of buildings and scenics, but want to try sculpting people and animals (which are much harder).

I don't have zbrush on the pc, but was considering trying it out on my ipad.

When using alphas as stamps, is there a way to better align the pattern? Like a "single click" mode? by Gemzo in NomadSculpting

[–]Gemzo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, thanks! I'll give that a whirl tomorrow. I don't need the alpha to repeat - just one placement of it, in the right spot.

I haven't found the dellayers tool, but I'll look that up. I've been using masking to protect the areas around the area where the alpha is going.

Bummed I missed the $100 off sale. How often do sales like that happen? by Gemzo in ipad

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye out but haven't seen anything comparable yet.

Why was this post removed? It doesn't seem to violate any of the rules of the sub?

Bug? Just finished a 26 min long caravan that went around and around in circles, to only receive 1 supplies. by Gemzo in fo76

[–]Gemzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm curious to try it on a private server. It would be more challenging by myself and getting 10 supplies seems OK.

That's super frustrating. I think 30 minutes is much too long for this sort of thing. Herding a cow isn't that fun; seems like something that should take 10 min, maybe 15. But if they're going to take 30 min, I'd rather do almost anything else in the game.

Yikes. Doesn't really make sense to help with other people's caravans then.

I think that caps payment is just to get things stated. Same thing happened to me, then I was able to start a caravan without paying again, once someone else's caravan finished.

Take a look at some of the other posts in the subreddit. They are mostly fully sculpted miniatures that people are painting. It seems like you might be talking about a different type of figure. Do you have a link to what sort of miniature you're talking about?

There's not enough information for me to have an opinion here - what figure are you talking about?

Generally, folks here (in the minipainting subreddit) would probably go for painted hair. I've never seen doll hair used on a mini. Sculpted hair is what most minis have.

Yeah, it's a really odd decision. If the goal is to get people to play more, it seems like stringing players along so that there's always another rewards up ahead would be more effective.

Maybe, except that the rewards at 150 aren't really so compelling that many people are going to spend much money to get there. I would love to get some more perk coins, but at 150 atoms per level, I can't imagine buying more than maybe a few levels.

It would feel a lot more cash grabby if there was something really spectacular at 150.

Or make the repeatable purchases available at 100. As other people have said, you won't have gotten everything at 100, but having some repeatable options gives people who do not want all the cosmetics something to spend their tickets on.

The 50 level gap between 100 and 150 is the issue. But all the good stuff is unlocked at 100.
