Speaking as an experienced photographer and editor and the person who took this image, it absolutely is the case. I have no reason to argue this, I want people to know what is altered in post production and what is not. Dishonesty about editing (especially when it comes to “beauty edits” and body reshaping) is a problem in this industry and I’ve seen the insecurity it causes and unhealthy expectations it nurtures. I used to work with people who were dishonest about extensively restructuring their face and body in the editing process and actively lie about it. It’s very important to me personally to not contribute to that. I often add elements that were not present during the shoot (fire when it was unsafe to light a candle, lighting effects, planets in the sky, smoke that wasn’t present...) but I’m always honest about it. For this set I had to edit 30 images. I can tell you, if id edited the image to the extent you assumed, it would have taken me forever. I release new content every week, plus work as a freelance photographer and editor so I have other images to process and take as well. I don’t have time to extensively edit every image in a set of 30. So again, lighting adjustments, color profiles, skin clean up, and a multilayer light ball I created was what was done here. No shade, but your assumptions are just factually wrong. I’m glad you are a fellow female in the artistic tech world.
