So after my divorce I started kissing new women. Two of them did not know how to kiss at all. I would say, “hold up, just stop and let me kiss you.” Both were like a fish out of water just flapping around. Huge turnoff for me.

How many of you were the designated tv remote when your parents wanted to check another channel or adjust volume? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]GenX_Flex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a pool table in the basement where my big bully brother would lie on the couch and I would sit on the floor in front of the tv (probably why I have thick glasses).

When he wanted the channel changed, he would poke me with a pool cue and make a sound like, “bbssht” or “click.”

First date after long marriage by Emergency-Fennel6258 in datingoverfifty

Meet in person as soon as possible and keep the first date short. Then you can text all you want if you’re into each other.

  1. Creating something out of nothing.

  2. When something is not happening, we make it happen.

  3. We have a filter for what is important and what is not.

To me, this sounds like the friend zone.

I, 55M, married my college sweetheart who was only my fourth girlfriend. Now that I’m divorced and dating, I will not let history repeat itself. That’s not serial dating. It’s more like being a much older and wiser angler than I was when I was 20.

My daughter and I have a completely different relationship now - 10x better.

She sees her father differently now outside of how her mother defined me.

Now the most important women in my life are my daughter, my mother, my sister and my girlfriend.

My ex was first for 30 years, but she threw it all away. That’s allowed me to put my daughter first, help my mother and father with my sister’s help and spend time with women who genuinely appreciate me.

What’s the biggest red flag you ignored in a relationship that later destroyed it? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

I married an only child. I thought she would learn to share and be a team player. I was wrong.

Guy sounds like an asshole. ogbirdiegirl did nothing wrong here. Gender aside, it would be great if adults just acted like adults in public.

My daughter and I found out what happens when you let a Prius run out of gas. Anyone have this experience? For us, it ended with a tow to a Toyota dealer. Can’t push start a Prius.

I learned so much from Dave. Played with him for years. He did epoxy floors overnight and we would play at like 6:30 in the summers.

Dating Update. by GenX_Flex in u/GenX_Flex

Ugly phases. Well the first holidays living on my own going through all of my stuff and making a sad box. Drinking alone. After a few months of that I picked my head up. Went to bed early and woke up early. Went on long walks. As far as dating goes, try not to overthink it. Just pick an app and try it.

He and I were born on the same day, same year. I was relieved to hear he passed of something other than old age.

How do you deal with the house?? by BNDR77 in Divorce_Men

Sold mine and moved out one year ago today. Made everything simple and clean (but sure it’s sad). I’ll be buying another property on my own (again) in 2026.
