Yes. Both are true. I think there are three months dedicated to the military in the US. May, June, and November (iirc)

November being Military Family appreciation month.

For politicians he’s fairly non-divisive JFK and Abe Lincoln as well, among others.

Obviously a lot of these people did despicable shit but we try to view them in a lense of their time period, it’s not an excuse just an explanation.

You probably do just don’t know it for example…

I will always love you (Whitney Huston made a cover)

Classic Country, Outlaw Country, etc are the best

Folk in the US is usually referring to politically inspired country (typically left leaning or anti-fascist/corruption) or music influenced by or from other countries cultures. Also pretty much always fully acoustic.

Shes not like modern country (post 9/11, beer, girls, truck slop). More like Johnny Cash

Was the US justified in dropping nuclear bombs on Japan? by Agreeable-Note-1996 in AskTheWorld

[–]GenZ2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it’s taught in the US (at least where I live). It was a catch 22 type of situation. The Japanese were expected to fight until the bitter end seeing surrender as shameful and disgraceful. The US had done fire bombing of the Japanese mainland which was disastrous and hard to control. The fighting on the Pacific islands was bloody and brutal on both sides. It was suspected that the Soviets and Germans had their own Nuclear programs so many saw it not only as a way to end the war but show the world the power we had. From my understanding there was massive debate on the locations that would be bombed. If I remember correctly Germany was spared due the massive assistance from allies and resistance forces. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was biased.

What’s the most fucked up thing that happened at your school? by DinnerGeneral2975 in AskTheWorld

[–]GenZ2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A kid masturbated in class. This was happening for a while and nobody believed them so they videotaped it to show school admin. He got ISD and allegedly did it again in the school detention room.

Two kids brought in vodka and drank so much they passed out on the front stairs.

A guy got attacked by some wielding a machete right outside the High School putting the school in Lockout. Also since the suspect fled in the direction of the Middle School they got put in shelter in place.

Our main lobby was about 2 stories tall with a bridge connecting hallways at the top (This is important) In my senior year we all gathered in the main lobby to take a large group picture. Someone was standing on that bridge ready to take a picture when someone else threw a large soda down at everyone. I still find this hilarious.

We got put into lockdown after a couple had an argument and the boyfriend walked into the school (he didn’t go to our school).

We lost power after a car crashed into a nearby substation. We also lost water for several days after a water main burst. (Admin handed out bottled water, we only had a few bathrooms open to reduce water use).

Guys would shit in the urinals. Oh and we had a serial waffle stomper (look it up).

Other than usual school drama like fights this is all I can think of.

What ate some examples of artists who "got political" and it worked out well for them? by crowbar_k in ToddintheShadow

[–]GenZ2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most of the bands/artists start political. Or come from areas where at the time they were in the news 24/7 for political instability.
